Re: ear problems with cpap use

It would help if we knew what machine you have. Click on User Control Panel above and complete your profile - particularly your equipment. If you're on straight C-PAP, you might find auto PAP or Bi-Level to be more comfortable. That could allow some relief from the high pressure so it isn't so high ...

I'm Back!

I don't know if I was even missed, but I'm back! As some of you may remember, my family went through a very difficult time when a cousin committed suicide. As the family investigates what might have caused this very sudden and unexpected action, they've found they that medication may have played a r...

Re: Which Bi-pap machine i should use? - the pain continues

OK - I'll jump in here. Don't know if I can help much. I use the VPAP Auto 25 and I'm very pleased with it. It is a little tricky getting the settings where they are most comfortable for you. What are you pressures running at on your auto? What is you Min and Max pressure? For the best Bi-level out ...

Re: OT - Tragic Death in Family

Thanks to all for your words of support and understanding. To Babette and all other who have been touched by suicide and suicidal thoughts, my heart goes out to you! (((HUGS))) to all! Rumors have begun to float around. I guess I should have expected it. People seem to "feed" off tragedy. I refuse t...

< rant mode on > I guess I'm in favor of ANYTHING that will get the attention of our elected representatives.....to tell them they can't keep doing the same things over and over and expecting different results. Borrowing (massive amounts of) money from other countries (especially those who don't ha...

Re: OT - Tragic Death in Family

I am touched by his attempt to spare his family's feelings. He went outside to do the shooting. Clearly he felt there was something so horrible that no other answer would suffice, but he didn't want his family to have to suffer by dealing with his remains. He put everything in order and then went o...

Re: OT - Tragic Death in Family

I think men may be especially adept at hiding feelings of depression as they learn from a young age that men aren't supposed to show their emotions. We are a family of strong Christian Faith and I know the Lord will help us through this! Thank you all for your words of support, thoughts and prayers!

OT - Tragic Death in Family

The past week has been among the most difficult of my life. Last Thursday my husband's cousin shot and killed himself. He left no note. There were no warning signs. He took his son to school as he does every morning. Then, instead of going to work, he went home, parked his truck where he always does...

Re: obtaining a CPAP machine without a prescription

If you can obtain a prescription from your doc, try http://www.cpapauction.com. Before you purchase a machine, make sure you know what you're looking for. I recommend an Auto to help you self-titrate. There is a wealth of information at the links above "New Users" and "Our Wisdom". There are some gr...

FYI I paid less than $200 for my ResLink.

Where did you get it? Any tips on how/where to get one at a price that's not too expensive?

Re: Advice on handling 20/16 pressure

Yes, the card reader for the S8 will work. I find it very helpful to see the graphs. You can check the numbers on the display, and for some, that's all they need/want. For me, it really helps to see the graphs, to see when events happen, if they happen in clusters or are spread out through the night...

Re: Advice on handling 20/16 pressure

I'm not a medical professional, so I hate to recommend pressures for you. It might be best to first try the ramp. Also, talk to your physician or RT about the problems you're having with your pressure. They might recommend a lower starting pressure and steps to increase the pressure. Here's an examp...

Re: Advice on handling 20/16 pressure

Welcome! My current pressure on the VPAP Auto 25 is 17/25, so I can relate. My biggest challenge is eliminating leaks at the high pressure. I didn't have a problem getting used to it, but I started with a ResMed Vantage Auto at lower pressures and worked my way up. Perhaps that is what you need to d...

Re: Overnight Oximetry Report - Please Comment

I don't know what happened between midnight and 3:15, but I'm guessing the finger clip fell off. I woke about 3:15 and adjusted covers and noticed it was off. That's really cool the way you diagnosed yourself and have the video to see what goes on when you sleep! I hope you get your stats where you ...
