Re: Spoke Too Soon
you may still be able to pull diagnostics out of your machine even if set to cpap - i know i can with my resmed (i just don't get efficacy data, i do get the ahi, etc.) 1) make sure your swift lt is assembled correctly, with the pillows angling "outward" from the center - there is a bump on the (i t...

Nasal mask help, please
Hi All, My only mask until yesterday was a Swift LT. well, not entirely true - at the sleep clinic they let me try a nasal pillow and a mask and i opted for the nasal mask. yesterday my "new" one night used mirage nasal mask came - it looked virtually new except for minor signs of smudging on the ma...

Re: Trouble exhaling with Swift LT
FWIW, i find the LT to be easy to inhale and exhale - you mentioned you turned the EPR off - i have mine set to 3 and it is easier to exhale. i would NOT screw around with the vent holes by the elbow - if you cut the holes by the nares you may get better results, but me personally, i wouldn't monkey...

Re: disinfecting a mask
I may be wrong, but i thought you couldn't catch your own cold or virus - that your antibodies learn the unique signature of the thing, defeat it, and then you're immune to that particular strain for life. That said, i have Control III at home and i can't wait to try it on my new used mask!

Re: Sleepless in New York, Please help
as long as your doc approves, to me there's nothing like good ol' tylenol pm - not addictive, supposedly doesn't make you sleepy in the a.m. (a little debateable) and it can knock out some aches and pains without hurting your stomach. i'm a fairly large fellow and i only take a 1/2 dose when i need ...

Re: Need Help after my first night on A-PAP
i'm still a newbie, but i learn quickly i have the autoset ii and was titrated at 14. the first couple of nights, i screwed around with the machine - set it to apap, with a range of i believe 4 to 15, and a ramp (settling) of 20 minutes. i had the swift lt WAY TOO TIGHT - uncomfortable, and a lot of...

Re: Stuffed nose thanks to CPAP?
I remember having similar experience when I first started ... stuffy nose in morning after waking and taking my mask off. That went away and the only thing I began doing differently since it went away is starting up my regular nasal saline rinsing. At first I rinsed every morning then after a coupl...

Re: first night
after almost 3 weeks i'm still awaiting a spring in my step - however i will say after the first night or two i felt i was much SHARPER and able to do detailed work much better than i had in a long time. the first night i just plain passed out and ended up taking 2 hour naps at a clip (hey, ya gotta...

Re: Resscan 3.7
i saw one website in the u.s. that had the software (i think 3.5) but they made me a bit nervous for some reason - i ended up ordering the software (and USB adapter - not card reader) from australia - waiting for it to arrive. what's interesting is that even with shipping and currency conversion, it...

Re: Stuffed nose thanks to CPAP?
thanks for the reply - i've been trying to get a full face mask (2.5 weeks on cpap) for the eventual completely clogged nose - i've avoided nasal sprays for years (rebound effect) though when i built my RC airplanes, i used the CA glue (crazy glue) that cleared me up -- and rebounded me badly (they ...

Marsha, glad to read about the happy ending (hopefully not fiction this time!!!!) - but do us a favor, and secure the covering to the pipe - otherwise we'll be reading about how you tripped and fell into the pipe and was stuck there for a week (without your CPAP machine!!!!)

Yikes! again, i'm thrilled the insurance covered me - and yeah, i bitch and moan about my premiums - last year i paid about $9k and probably got $1k in benefits (for my kid's pediatrician) - this year my wife is pregnant, and due in february - the c-section runs roughly $10k i think (from past exper...

Hi All, Actually, wasn't that bad - my co-pay is $100 - and while i didn't want to pay it, it sure was better than $4,650 or so! bill not in front of me, but the breakdown was something like $4,650 sleep study with cpap, insurance discount some $700 or so, then the rest paid by insurance (thank god)...
