Re: Anti Snoring blanket

It does not cure Sleep Apnea. Even a CPAP does not cure Sleep Apnea. It "treats" sleep apnea. You may stop snoring but if you have sleep apnea....you will still have it while you use the blanket.

Re: Confusion over cleaning hose/tubing

A wet hose doesn't matter...it gets wet again as soon as you turn on the machine. To me that's like washing and drying your car and then driving ouit in the rain. In most cases, only your filtered room air is going through the hose.

Re: Lifelong Necessity or Temporary Measure?

The CPAP treats...it doesn't cure. You have low AHI numbers because you are using the CPAP. If you stop using it your AHI may be back to where it was before using the CPAP. There are 2 different calculations...The MyAir considers all leaks while the machine only considers large leaks. Both are accurate.

Re: 2 cpap machines

If you are comparing your Philips to the Resmed MyAir, they are not calculated the same. The MyAir is counting all leaks while I believe the Philips is counting only large leaks.

Re: CPAP making things worse

What restrictions? The insurance company is only concerned that you use the machine they paid for. If you don't use it you have to return it or pay for it. I don't think that is unrealistic.

Re: How to Troubleshoot & Improve Leak Performance?

Are you mouth breathing? If you are, consider a full face mask or a chinstrap. With leaks that high, your AHI may be under stated.

Why can't you just run a small room humidifier in your bedroom? Many people do it when they need more humidity.
