Re: How many masks did you try when you first started?

I have used only 1 mask.....Comfort Gel Nasal...It was the first mask my DME asked me to try. I am on my second mask in 10 months. I find it forms to my face very easily...rarely leaks.

Re: Noisy M Series Pro, Encore question, DME's, Doc gripes.

I had the same problem with the M series. My wife kicked me out of the bedroom. I called my DME and they exchanged it for my current machine...quiet, but not data capable. The specifications shows it only slightly quieter than the M series, but it doesn't have the Darth Vader inhale and exhale sounds.

Re: My cpap mask is hurting me!!

When I put on my Comfort Gel mask over my papCAP, it feels a little tight. I make sure I get a good seal and then...about 5-10 minutes later when the mask is pressureized and seated, I loosen it up.

I may be wrong, but, in the few months that I have been on this site, I don't recall this being a problem. New masks often have some smell, but the machine???

Re: Product Challenge Chinstraps Fail To Please CPAP Users

Reply to benzmum.... I really have not had any serious problem...I put on the cap (I have it adjusted to fit snug but not tight) then the strap tight enough to keep my lips pretty tight, but still not uncomfortable. I put on my Comfort Gel Nasal mask over the PAPCAP. The only problem I have had is a...

Re: Tired of CPAP!!

The CPAP and mask are not a concern of mine I adjusted relatively quickly. It take me only seconds to put on my mask. My problem is mouth leaks. I tried the FF mask and didn't like it. I tried taping....it sucked. Now I'm using a chinstrap which works, but is a pain to put on and adjust each night. ...

[quote="mipookiebear"]I have not been treated for restless leg syndrome.

It sounds like you should be. This is normally checked as a part of your sleep study.

Re: I don't feel tired

At first you may not be tired from it. You really want to catch it as early as possible. I am sure I have had it for many years but until the last year when I seemed to hit a brick wall I was not tired. I was getting random high blood pressure readings, snoring badly but not tired at all. With the ...

It's interesting that the majority...43% want the nasal mask test, but, 55% (combined) want a FF mask test.

Re: What do your family members think?

I have tinnitus (ringing in the ear). It is much easier for me to fall asleep with the hummmmm of the CPAP since it blocks out the ringing sounds.

Re: What is the average life of a cpap mask?

Medicare will replace a mask every 3 months. My current Resperonics Comfort Gel is now 5 months old without problems with a seal. I clean it about every 5 days.
