Re: Is there any software compatible with Android Tablet?
Old thread, but very cool idea. Has there been any more progress on this or other projects to view xpap data on android tabs? One workaround could be to run a .deb installer on rooted android tabs - that way the existing sleepyhead Ubuntu version might work. I'm traveling and don't have access to a ...

Re: Buying first machine in 4 years - what did I miss!?!?
It all depends on the DME supplier if they will supply an APAP capable machine with a cpap fixed pressure RX. Some will and some won't. They all could if they would just do it but often they won't because of the profit margin involved and will use the "RX" excuse instead of telling you it's all abo...

Re: Buying first machine in 4 years - what did I miss!?!?
IF you purchase from a DME, let them set the unit at anything they want. You have access to the Clinical Manual and can change the setting to whatever you want. Most people on this board have taken charge of their own therapy and make their own adjustments. Check the prices at our host cpap.com bef...

Buying first machine in 4 years - what did I miss!?!?
Hi all, I have been living overseas and am about to go to Baltimore for a few weeks. While there, I plan to take advantage of the chance to buy a new pap machine for the first time in several years. I'm trying to catch up on developments in the hosehead scene, and wanted to ask a few questions: - My...

Re: Question for battery experts: proper inverter?
It works! Thanks all for the helpful tips and interesting discussion. I ended up with two solutions. First, I found a 5.5mm x 2.5mm tip in a closet, then spliced, soldered and heat-shrunk it to some trailer harness wire with alligator clips attached to the other end (running through a 10 amp fuse ri...

Re: Question for battery experts: proper inverter?
So I plugged in the inverter and attached it to the battery last night and got nothing except a lot of heat in the wires, so I disconnected asap. Didn't even get around to plugging in the PR power brick. Erratically flashing LED on the inverter and the heat made it clear something wasn't right. I te...

Re: Question for battery experts: proper inverter?
Some people get 2-3 nights off those jump packs alone ... So you should be fine ... Best sugestion is bring the battery and inverter into your bedroom tonight ... And try it! See how long you can go, then you will KNOW! Yeah, good point. I will test run it tonight. BTW, do you think I could use ano...

Re: Question for battery experts: proper inverter?
Great, thanks both of you for the answers. Sounds like I've got something that will work, even if not ideal. Chris, you said: DC cable - no need for an inverter. https://www.cpap.com/productpage/respironics-12volt-dc-power-cord.html Battery box w/cig adapter, fuse, and power gauge - http://www.walma...

Question for battery experts: proper inverter?
I've got a major 4x4 camping trip coming up in a couple of weeks. I have a deep cycle 50aH battery and one of those 18aH jump starters with ac outlet. I'd rather save the jump starter in case I need to do some actual jump starting, so I'm trying to make sure I have a suitable rig to run my cpap (wit...

Insurance loophole for overseas online purchases - BCBS
Ok, so I'm not actually sure if this is a bug or a feature, but this surprised me: According to a letter I received from Blue Cross Blue Shield - Texas, you can buy a CPAP from an overseas, non-preferred DME provider and be reimbursed at preferred rates REGARDLESS of whether you yourself are oversea...

ClimateLine for PR System One?
Has anyone heard if Phillips-Respironics is going to come out with a new humidifier/hose combo for the PR System One a la the Resmed H5i/ClimateLine combo? I've had the PR System One since shortly after it came out and am very happy with it. Combined with having lost about 40 lbs over the same perio...

Re: OSA, Driving and Government Run Amuk
What happened to your wife is bullsh!t, and far be it from me to try to justify it. It is stupid and the epitome of dysfunctional bureaucracy. Still, I have a government job, and I think I can understand why this SORT of thing (though maybe not this particular thing) happens. I mean, government is a...

Re: Stuck on EncorePro 2.2 opening screen
I'm just going to quickly describe the solution for the benefit of future keyword searchers ... As another user pointed out to me, EncorePro is meant to be displayed on a monitor with resolution 1024 x 768 or higher. I'm running it on a tiny netbook with resolution 1024 x 600. Essentially, most of t...

Re: Stuck on EncorePro 2.2 opening screen
I think I can see a possible solution. Would anyone on the board who has run EncorePro 2.0+ be willing to send me a .EXP file. This is apparently the file that EncorePro creates and it can be transferred. You could strip out most of the data so I don't know how many RERAs you get or whatever. The wa...
