Re: Still crazy after all these years.
Oh hell, I almost completely put the udder cream incident behind me. Still riding the bike I assume? Forgot to mention, the Quattro Air for me was hopeless - never saw such leak profiles like I was getting with that thing. Its amazing what you get used to. Cheers, Eric. posted 12/4/2008 OK, now you ...

Still crazy after all these years.
Hi All, So here I am again 5 1/2 years after being diagnosed with an AHI of 75 and having every symptom imaginable. Folks on this forum were my teachers, my support group, my friends, my saviors. Got to the point where I could fly on my own though. So, 5 years later, one daughter married with 7 mont...

Re: New user w/ Mirage Quattro and leak problem.
I am a mouth breather and wandered through the land of nasal masks until I ended up with the quattro. First, don't sleep on your back. Shove a ball under the back of your shirt if you have to. Apnea is worse on your on your back and your mask will leak more because the shape of your face changes whe...

Re: Does my machine need adjustments
I don't know what kind of mask you are using. although many people resist a full face mask, in fact it has always been easier for me because the entire airway, including my mouth is pressurized. In this way, no air pushes into my mouth and I find this much easier.
You'll get used to it.

just use tap water and rinse it every morning and let it dry. It'll be fine. If the tap smells from chlorine, use bottled. Nothing wrong with it.

Re: Traveling with C-Pap
I take it everywhere. Haven't missed a night in 13 months. I have a backpack that is intended for computer and camera gear, but hold computer and cpap just fine. TSA always swabs it. No biggie. I am not going to wake up in the middle of the night, nearly suffocated, soaked in sweat, with my heartrat...

Re: What do you do with your mask in the morning?
rinse the tank each night, use distilled water (got mold from tap water once - yuck), hang the mask on the hook on the 'hoser' hose hanger. Wash it once a month (yes, I am a a pig)

Re: Fun with Oximeter! (home sleep study)
Let's lighten up. Information is good. I, for one, appreciated the description of how the writer does his home sleep study. I have an oximeter with memory; but the $500 price of Profox put me off. I am very interested in hearing about the lower-cost "watermark" version, and hope I can get one... mo...

Re: Waking up soaked in sweat?
so if it happened during your test, you were not on cpap yet. I used to wake every night soaked in sweat. From the first day I was on cpap, that disappeared. I have only skipped cpap for one nap since i got the machine, about 3 months in... woke up soaked in sweat. So 13 months on cpap, one nap with...

Afrin is an amazing drug but only use it for a few nights. Get a nice full mask as a back up. Also try the whole netipot thing.

so our week of horrible cold and rainy weather gave way to 74 and sunny. had to stop and try a pic, but the camera in the phone really stinks. http://elader.smugmug.com/photos/688408611_dFf8v-L.jpg http://elader.smugmug.com/photos/688408625_9HZMW-L.jpg http://elader.smugmug.com/photos/688408643_h4Qe...
