Re: Alternative to chin strap for mouth breathing?

Since I deal with a certain amount of claustrophobia, neither a cervical collar nor a chin strap worked for me. Besides, too dang HOT here in New Orleans. So I took a 4" diameter cylinder of closed-cell foam about six inches long and drilled a hole down the center of the cylinder. I stuck a somewhat...

Re: Qi to Everything

And...oh, yeah. Long time folks here will remember my Adventure with Babette the Findling Beagle, here. https://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=47215&p=425691&hilit=+beagle#p425691 Master Qi has decided to follow in her footsteps. Only it's more fun because BOTH Harry and I have CPAPs now, and....

Re: Qi to Everything

My sister used to have the cutest little black miniature dachshund. He was adorable and had the sweetest way about him. They missed him a lot when he died at a good old age. I have had Dachshunds for 52 years. All except my heart, my Harper, lived their full lives. Harper was stolen from me by hema...

My bro. had one of those yrs ago and I remember him wandering all over Montreal trying to find good giveaway homes for the puppies - didn't believe in selling his 'kids'! They're special doggies alright!
Beyond special.

Re: Qi to Everything

What a handsome lad! Qi means life force--you have just added so much to yours. Enjoy! You did it--with aplomb. Good job. Yes, I know Qi means life force... after losing my heart, my Harper, I needed it. Qi is not Harper, and I wouldn't ask him to be. But wow does he have the energy! https://www.dr...

Re: Qi to Everything

Congratulations! I imagine doggy lovers at the airport were touched by your puppy kisses. Music trivia: Qui are a rock group formed in 2000 in Los Angeles by Paul Christensen and Matt Cronk. A combination of punk, noise and experimental rock (dog party, if there ever was one), they released their f...

Qi to Everything

Back the end of February, I was debating about travel with my CPAP, here. https://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic/t183913/To-Carry-or-Not.html . Thought you all would like to know how it came out. Back in December, my beloved Harper Dachshund was lost at New Years to hemangiosarcoma. HIs breeders offered...

Re: To Carry, or Not?

So sorry for your loss of Harper. Harper was beyond a special Boy, and I have had Dachshunds for 52 years. He was my third longhaired Dachshund. Congratulations with the new puppy! What breed? Standard Longhaired Dachshund. These pups not only have Harper's lineage, they add that of an Australian S...

Re: To Carry, or Not?

Under those circumstance, I would take surface transportation. However, I realize that might not work for you. Also, I understand that a puppy would not be able to sit still for the amount of time required and that you would need to find accommodations that accept dogs. I gather that you're plannin...

At the least, these times can make us strong.
Best wishes on the new baby.
Training him ought to be a blast.
If I get the one I'm thinking of, I will be figuring out how to show him in Conformation from a mobility scooter......

Re: To Carry, or Not?

I am so sorry for your loss. My heart hurts for you. We had to put our sweet boy down in August due to liver cancer and I still can't think about it without ugly crying and I was able to hold his head and pet him while it happened. Congrats on your new puppy! I hope your flight goes safely and smoo...

Re: To Carry, or Not?

I am so sorry. My daughter's pug had that disease. It takes them quickly even if you know what the problem is because not much can be done. They tried to save him with all sorts of treatment but it just prolonged things and made his quality of life go in the toilet. There is apparently now a blood ...

Re: To Carry, or Not?

I probably wouldn't take it. I would be wondering just how much sleep I would be really getting anyway even if there was a layover what with the new baby and all. Well, that's the whole thought. I have enough credit card points to make this a First Class ticket, and I can manage sitting upright. I'...

Re: To Carry, or Not?

Congratulations on the new family member! My non-medical response is if it was me I would not take the CPAP. You will have enough to deal with just with your new baby and scooter. You could compress everything into your carry-on (not the puppy or scooter of course) to make it a bit easier. You can ...
