Re: Length of CPAP tube
Just as an FYI, I requested a 10 foot hose (upon suggestion of sleep tech) because I while I slept (pre-hose), I flopped all around the bed - once I was hosed, hubby says I sleep like a rock (never moving); hope this helps

Re: Panty Hose for Leaks??
I use what I had at home, plain old hose (cut panty part out) and tie that around my head, (just one leg) horizontally and tie at the bridge of my nose - works well for me - places the mask closer to my head, probably looks really bad, but hubby likes me better hosed (better mood) I have also used e...

Re: Oh the joys of living in the country
My dog got skunked a few weeks ago (I too live in the sticks ) and that smell lingers - I think it lives forever - yesterday, I put on a pendant w/ chain and all day kept smelling skunk - put the pendant to my nose and...you guessed it - skunk smell - it was in a jewelry box at the time she first ca...

My reason I'm stayin' hosed
Hello everyone - I'm writing mainly for the new users who don't yet see the benefit of the machine - well, I went to the doc today (using about 2 months) and my blood pressure was way down - 10 points on the top and 20 points on the bottom - I just about fell over when I heard the numbers because I ...

Re: New Insurance
I am a teacher and deal with Georgia BCBSh (Georgia State Merit Benefits). I have been very happy as they have paid 100% of my treatment - we are losing that option in January and my best bet is Cigna - they only pay 90% of DME services. Best of luck to you.

follow up doc visit - should I ask for APAP?
Hello everyone. I've been using CPAP for about 6 weeks - co-workers say I look like I've been to a spa - hubby says I'm much easier to live with My memory and mood is improving greatly. I have Remstar Pro M Series (rent to own per DME) and 2 masks - one nasal pillow and nasal mask. In a couple of da...

Lansinoh and nasal pillows
Many, many thanks for the posters that recommended lansinoh (lanolin) for around the nasal pillows. It wasn't cheap ($9.99at Walgreens) but it really helped to create a seal. The added benefit was putting it on my hands, feet, elbows and knees (baby soft) ...this stuff rocks! Best wishes to everyone.

Re: Pur-Sleep Aromatherapy - Initial review
I got a lavender sample and ordered a three pack - I'm usually a super light sleeper - "anything" will wake me up. Well, last week I got hosed up and took an afternoon nap (I'm a preschool teacher, I deserve it ). Hubby comes in house, calls my name; I'm snoozin'...comes into bedroom, calls out my n...

Re: OT: Flu shot - Do you get one? Good idea?
I too got a flu shot today - free - in most places in my area (NGA) price is 30 dollars - my local health department has been giving them away today and tomorrow as a prep for a possible pandemic. I got the flu a few years ago (102 fever) told hubby I knew I was dying - told him no one could feel th...

Re: Sleep Apnea and Concentration
I too have better concentration - blamed everything on dyslexia, the big "M" (menopause) ; inwardly I always felt stupid - who knew we were just exhausted
Best wishes everyone.

Re: When all is said and done...Success and happy stories
I'm about one month into therapy - hubby says I am happier and I agree - little things don't seem to bother me as much Co-worker says I look like I've been at a spa retreat...best thing I have ever done for myself - now, is it fun to sleep that way? No, but as I've read from someone here - it's my l...

No joke-skunk scent in CPAP-need help pls
Late last night - my border collie wanted to come inside - got on our bed and "then" we discovered she had been sprayed - scent is intense and instant - I tried to go back to sleep with my mask, but scent was so intense, I buried myself under the cover...any ideas to take the smell out? I'll be unde...

Re: Titration tomorrow night, Oct. 6th, any advice?
I'm a newbie myself (almost one month on machine) - but I felt incredible after my titration - went to work the next day, told everyone to "get me a tie-dyed shirt and call Jerry Garcia because I felt great!" Just a joke My first sleep study showed lots of fragmented sleep - the tech that reviewed m...
