I do hear you guys. I do't like pills, drugs, supplements to that extent. You pretty soon become a junky. But with my DSPS condition, I do need some help for the job interviews I have as a computer programmer at 8 am. Just knowing about something that works would put my mind at ease and reduce my an...

Hi Snork, Thanks for the link. It does get into the issue extensively. What brand of nightguard is a good one? I went to the lungs drugs yesterday and they had one (I don't remember which brand) which was around $27. You refer to $3 in your posts. I also hear about a sport mouth guard. Which brand i...

Stimulants to provoke Alertness, wakefulness ???

What other stimulamts are out there to promote mental awakeness/alertness? I know that Provigil is the one for more severe cases (like Apnea, Narcolepsy, DSPS). On a DSPS board, folks have suggested things like exercising in the mornings, Caffeine (coffee, caffinated drinks, Caffeine pills, Chocolat...

Thanks snork,
I see that you have mastered the art of customizing night guards. I am fascinated by how people become creative with masks, nightguards etc. This gives me enough info to become creative with my own guard creation and avoid the gagging feeling
Thank you all.

Hi ahujudybear,
Yes. DSPS is a circadian Rythm disorder.
I did not know about the sleep/wake cycle tested by the airforce. Where can I find more information on it?
Cheers.

I have a sleep disorder called Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome where my natural sleep/wake cycle is 3-11 am. I have not take Provigil (yet), but many with DSPS have to take it to perform "normal" hours. There is a Yahoo group that discusses all the issues related to DSPS, including Provigil: http://hea...

Bruxism mouth guard

I am suffering from severe teeth grinding while sleep. My dentist custom made a mouth guard for me 5 years ago. It is very soft and comfortable and covers all the lower teeth. The problem I have is a small jaw and a big tongue I get a gagging feeling when I try to use it. Is there a guard that proba...

Thank you rock and roll. Your story is very encouraging. The style that I quit (or the class I took told me) was to go cold turkey. But I realy like to know more and maybe try the Nicotin gums. I know that they are sold over the counter and probably come with all kind of instructions and probably a ...

Confession time, just sharing

OK, It's confession and sharing time for me on this generous board. I have suffered for many years from depression and was only tackling the insomnia symptom by taking sleeping pills I eventually had to go on anti-depressants in 97 when I got a major episode and been taking them since. Although I ne...
