Re: New Hoser

Congratulations on your early success. Be sure you ultimately end up with a machine that will provide you detailed data so you can monitor your therapy.

Re: CPAP Addiction

I had packed the mask/tubing bag in a duffle bag in the truck. When checking off items on my list, I removed the duffle from the truck to find an item inside. In doing so, had to pull out the mask/tube bag to find it, and I left that bag sitting aside when the duffle went back in the truck. I had an...

CPAP Addiction

My cpap mask didn't make it on a short trip this past weekend. I spent 5 hours one night sitting up in a chair with an ottoman and a couple pillows. This was my first night in over a year w/o cpap. it was a nightmare. I got up with a irritated throat, headache and difficulty speaking coherently. The...

Re: I just got my machine!!!!!

"The only information this Plus machine will ever offer is how many hours you used it.." So you won't know if your therapy is working correctly. Congratulations on your starting cpap and your great attitude. You're very fortunate to end up here where you can get advice from patient advocates, not $$...

Re: big mistake!

Cpap every night is indispensable. It's so important I recently carried my M-Series, 6-ft hose, Opus 360, and a 20 oz. lithium Ion battery pack, in my backpack with other camping gear, over 20 miles camping with the Boy Scouts at Cumberland Island, Ga. I don't leave home without it!

Re: so confused...new to this with very little info

Congratulations on being diagnosed and finding this site. Your future is bright! 1. Obtain copies of your sleep tests immediately (not just the summary, each should be several pages), they are required to provide them to you by federal law. You can then post them here via Photobucket for more detail...

Re: Do you ever go a night without CPAP?

The cpap is a real "plus" attracting the opposite sex because of the "sympathy factor". You will attract "giver" types which is the kind you want anyway!

Go for it! (And never go a night without cpap.)

Seriously, cpap patients have expired attempting a night without their therapy.

What do your nightly reports show? Post a typical report here for advice. (Ask how if you don't know how to do it.) Your reports are the key to your therapy success. You can do it with the help of this site.

Re: Who do you tell, and when, and why?

".....I could be discriminated against for a job, insurances such as health....." This is a real concern and is very commonplace. When a health insurance company pays a few apnea related claims or "losses" they will jack up your rates to where your employer can no longer afford to keep you. It's jus...

Re: Looking for IntelliPap CPAP Users

This is a good place to learn more about the Intellipap: http://intellipap-aflex-auto.cpaptalk.com/

While it is apparently a great machine for many, it didn't work at all for me and I need the Resperonics algorithm to treat my apnea.

Re: Need help choosing machine for my teen

If I were buying a new machine right now and wanted all available options I would get: https://www.cpap.com/productpage-bundle/respironics-pr-system-one-remstar-auto-cpap-heated-humidifier-bundle.html The only question mark, since this machine was just released, I don't know what the status of softw...

Re: Extreme Fatigue

Janetlee, I understand why you sound sort of "out of it". That's so common with sleep apnea. It get's better, just learn all you can here and stick with the therapy. After a year I'm much, much better, but cpap isin't a cure and, in my opinion, can only treat and vastly improve the way you feel.
