Re: Strong chemical smell in the middle of the night?
I use my toothbrush, toothpaste and mouthwash before I put the mask on. Although, I get same effect you have while scuba diving if I don't control my air pressure properly through the regulator? May your pressure is set too high?

Headgear & Scalp Disease
Hello, I'm wondering if anyone else has run into this problem. For the last 6 days I've had an itchy and sore scalp, presumably from the headgear. Neutrogena has not helped so today, I poured Listerine on the back of my head a few times to kill whatever was causing the problem. I'm wondering if the ...

Re: getting to sleep, or at least some
I'm fairly new too, and after 9 miserable nights, I finally got used to it, and slept for the whole night last night. It might not be the torture device it seemed like I mislead the original poster with the above post, as night 11 was miserable, so it looks like it will take that whole month to get...

Buying from CPAP.com
I am currently renting my machine and will return it to the medical supply store as soon as my prescription is sent to cpap.com. My question is, the doctor said he intended to raise the pressure level after an adjustment period of getting used to using it. If the machine is set at 9 by prescription,...

Advice on Machine I should buy
I am on a rental contract with the basic Respironics DS 200 CPAP machine with Cflex. Since I apparently have to use this machine for years, not months, I should buy a machine, instead of going broke renting. For anyone who might be using this machine, there appears to be little info it provides the ...

Adjustment period
Hello, I've had my machine for a week, and wear it alot. The most sleep I've gotten is 3 hours before I wake, or have to take off the mask for a break. Typically, how long will it be before I can just put the mask on and wake up the next morning? It's still difficult for me right now

Re: Trying to learn nose breathing
I've started using those nasal strips you put on the bridge of your nose with my full face mask and it seems to help a little.

Re: No Sympathy
Billy, you are one lucky son of a gun! Many men have a turbulent relationship with their sons (I'm one) until they are in their 20's (my best friend now). You know his teasing is just that and quite frankly he's good at it. Probably his way of saying he loves you. Ya gotta take what you dish out bu...

Re:
I'm a pretty small guy myself. I'm only 5'6", 160lbs, and have a small recessed jaw (probably the reason I have sleep apnea in the first place). I'm quite certain at this point the quattro small (for example) is too large for me. However the ultra mirage small was much too small. The sizing seems t...

Re: Wee hours again... Too many competing concerns.
If I were you, I'd take massive doses of Omega 3, Vitamin C, CoQ-10 and Niacin during the day (not before you turn your machine on). It works for us, but since I'm know nothing about health care, you should talk to someone who knows what they are talking about.

ENT Doctor
Hi, Is it advisable to see an ENT doctor to see if he can fix the sleeping disorder with some minor cutting instead of being on the pressure machine for years? . My physician never mentioned the option. Did your doctor send you to the ENT guy first, or did he just hand you the prescription for CPAP ...
