Re: How to turn humidifier and tube heat off on AirSense 10?

Guys don't read manuals right?! but it so happens that the manual (or at least the one I have) neglects to mention that the heating tube can, in fact, be turned off! No need for a standard tube. Now the only question is, am I correct in assuming that hot humid air is a potential magnet for badness a...

How to turn humidifier and tube heat off on AirSense 10?

I have a new ResMed AirSense 10 CPAP with the ClimateLineAir heated tube. I know how to access the Clinical Menu and turn off humidification but cannot see any way to turn the heated tubing entirely off (only to a temperature in the range between 60 and 80 degrees F (16 to 30 C). Do I need to get a ...

Re: My fix for rainout (condensation) in Swift LT nasal pillow

If you're willing to spend the $$$ I highly recommend a SleepZone heated hose that will work with all PAP units because it has it's own power supply. These are available from the SleepZone supplier (in Australia) and from online suppliers (like cpapusa) in North America. Since starting to use this p...

Not sure if this helps or not but have a look at my recent posting

for a description of the data stored by many of the newer ResMed flow generators

Re: S8 Elite detailed data download via ResScan

Got the following feedback from ResMed Technical Services in Aussie land: First: The High Rate Data - Flow feature supports a resolution of 25 samples per second for flow data (1 data point every 40ms). The ResMed S8 Series II models support this rate when used with an attached ResLink option. Witho...

Reading/Interpreting detailed CPAP data (for Dummies)

It strikes me that many of us would benefit from having access to a book or booklet with a title something like "Reading/Interpreting detailed CPAP data for Dummies". Given that there is no such book available can anyone point me/us to resources where I/we can learn to read and interpret detailed CP...

Re: Leak Reduction in the Swift LT

...snip However, in switching I've also found I have more rainout issues with my new mask, I think because the mask part of the hose hangs out in open air instead of being against my skin and body heat. I'll probably wrap a wash cloth around it and see if that helps some. I already have an insulate...

Re: Canadian cpap.com users (Ontario OHIP)

Whereas I too have noted the higher prices in Canada (in fact, the increase is often close to the ADP benefit we get from OHIP) there are a few problems with buying from US online suppliers: 1) some machines available south of the border are not CSA approved (so don't expect to collect insurance if ...

Re: Leak Reduction in the Swift LT

I started using my Swift LT 11 days ago and at first had some problem with leaking. Turns out I was mouth breathing in the middle of the night. Any chance that you're doing the same? I'm now mouth taping and my leak stat is now 0.00 l/s. Will either keep with mouth taping or try the Mirage Liberty m...

Re: S8 Elite detailed data download via ResScan

the data you really NEED is already available on the LCD display, IF you know how to get to it and have it enabled. You hold down the center and right button at the same time for 3 seconds to access the menu, once there, scroll down to Options, then Smart Data, then enable Auto Appear. For quick ac...

S8 Elite detailed data download via ResScan

Apparently the S8 Elite II, the S8 Elite, and S8 Autoset models) provide "low resolution" detailed data via the ResScan Data Card and this low resolution data is equivalent to Autoscan Night Profile data. Can anyone please tell me what the difference is between this level of data and "true" detailed...

Re: Swift LT pillow system leak data

Which conversion are you referring to? A leak rate greater than about 0.3 is pretty high. But that number can be misleading. Is the machine only on when you are hooked up to it? If yes, then you have a bad leak problem. If no, the number is suspect because while you were unhooked from the machine a...

Here is another economical source for hypoallergenic tape

Haven't yet used this myself but will be doing so if mouth taping addresses my problem with mouth breathing.

Re: Swift LT pillow system leak data

So for the swift (menu) at 8 cm the machine is using a built in leak rate of 29 l/min (I used page 11 of this pdf - note the mask flow are +/- 6 l/min http://www.resmed.com/en-us/products/service_and_support/documents/60893r1_mirage_swiftII_nasal_userguide_us_multi.pdf) your excess over that you st...
