Ultra Mirage Full Face Mask question

I am thinking of getting the Ultra Mirage FF mask, but I have a few questions since the only mask I've ever had is the Respironics gel mask. 1) What is the difference between the "small shallow" size & the "small standard" size? I wear a petite in the Respironics mask & it's too big. 2) What is the ...

Auto Pap question

Sorry if I'm repeating a question that has been already asked here, but I have been reading post after post & am still confused I have the Remstar CPAP & am thinking about getting the Remstar Auto Pap. My question is: Can you set the pressures yourself? I don't have insurance & live in a small town ...

Asthma & CPAP

I have been reading the board for awhile & was convinced that an auto CPAP with C-Flex was the way to go. I currently have a regular CPAP. I also have asthma. I then came across a post(s) where someone said that people with asthma should not use auto CPAP's. Does anyone have any more information on ...

ComfortGel Replacement Cushion

Has anyone ever bought a Respironics ComfortGel replacement cushion? The reason I'm wondering is that my head gear & plastic parts are fine, but I need a new cushion only, BUT it looks almost impossible to get the two plastic parts apart in order to replace the cushion. They seem almost "fused" to m...

Well, again I'm near tears, but this time it's happy ones. I am an emotional person, (heck, some commercials make me cry!), but I was upset that I'd finally found "someone" to talk to about sleep apnea & all the great information & support here, only to have those insensitive remarks made. I will co...

I was the "guest" airhead was referring to. I still haven't got the hang of how many things on the computer work. Anyway, I do appreciate your apology & also accept it. I am not one to carry grudges & it's in the past now. I will say I was very hurt by the comments, but I'll get over it. I will cont...

Thanks for the correction chrisp. I in no way was attacking you...just saying the solution really irritated me in a BIG way...now I know why! airheads comments were absolutely rude & maybe if he/she was as brilliant as they think they are, they might have caught the mistake & told me instead of insu...

Thanks Paul. Someone on here said that this "home made" solution was comparable to the SinusCleanse & that's why I tried it. I will give the store version a try. Does it contain alcohol, too? The first batch I made I added the alcohol...that was SO bad for me. It burned my entire sinus cavity & thro...

OUCH!!! Sinus saline solution

Okay, I tried the "sinus solution" recipe given on here & all I can say is OUCH times 10!!!! I about DIED!!! I was choking & in intense pain for over 10 minutes after only putting a few drops in my nostrils...I can't imagine putting a dropperful in! (I followed the directions exactly, too) Maybe my ...

Hmmmmmmmmm...I was told by the nurses to wash the humidifier in the dishwasher or else I had to go through the whole soaking in vinegar routine once a week. I've been washing mine in the dishwasher for a year now with no problems. It's interesting how much different information we are all given!

So I would have to get another presciption for the auto pap? With no insurance & living in a new state I hated to have to pay a "new" dr. for an appt. just to wite me the prescription. Now I'm wondering if I can contact my old dr. & ask for a prescription for the auto pap. Thanks for the information...

Machine question

I have a prescription for a regular CPAP machine. During my tests I had quite a range of pressures needed to keep my airway open...all the way to 19. They set my machine at an "average". Sometimes it's not high enough. My question is...is it possible to get an autopap machine with the prescription I...

I agree...it does seem very excessive, especially for something so important. Maybe because the equipment is relatively new? Maybe once it is routine the prices will go down. I sure hope so. Many people can't "afford" to have sleep apnea with the prices the way they are & they certainly can't afford...

Question about buying equipment

When I got my CPAP machine a year ago I was allowed one machine & a mask. Just before we lost our insurance in June I got another mask just like the one I have. Now I have no insurance, but would like to get one of the full face masks. Do you just take your prescription in or can you use it here at ...
