Re: Anyone using pulse oximeters for monitoring sleep apnea?
I bought the one that goes with the resmed series 8 machine. It was a while back and I recall it being pricey but the correlation between oxygen levels and use of the mask spurred me on to be compliant. I would see the massive 02 drop after I took the mask off in my sleep and it scared the hell out ...

Re: Doing horribly.
You'll get there mate. It takes a while. Mostly it gets better but sometimes it goes backwards a bit for most of us. But, even with a bad night on cpap you are improving your general health, avoiding other problems and adapting to the mask. So just do your best. I can tell you that I was exactly the...

Heres an iphone app from resmed that records. You could send them the whistle sound to add to their diagnosis

Re: Stick with old S7 Elite or....?
I hope I'm not hijacking here - I seem to be in a similar position to the OP (already own a machine, considering the advantages of newer models) so figured its neater to talk about about replacement machine features here. Do the system one or resmed s9 series models run the humidifier when on 12 vol...

Re: Stick with old S7 Elite or....?
What are some of the newer features>? I am thinking along the same lines, I have an s8 series ermmm vpap? Can't remember and dont want to wake up the missus checking. I think I need to upgrade anyway as its getting noisy. Is there a feature that injects some kind of sleeping gas on a timer? I could ...

Shopping list - papcap, new machine, what else?
Hi all, I've been using for a while now. Years? Anyways, I'm ordering a papcap from cpaptalk.com. Are there any new toys that I should order to pad it out a bit? Shipping seems a bit steep, I'm hoping they throw it all in one bag if I order more. My machine is starting to get pretty loud, I think it...

Re: Gettin it On! CPAP SEX?
If anyone can get enough air down one of these things to power them during sex then they aren't doing it properly. Maybe if you rigged up a manifold hose system with 8 machines all pumping air. Actually I have a pretty decent air compressor and a box of fittings. Might go see how the missus feels...

Re: Two month anniversary and this isn't working at all for me
I struggled for ages when I started. Would wake up and rip the mask off. I just kept trying, same as quitting smoking. You can't lose if you never quit.

Re: Wife complains of very high pitched whistle from my swift fx
Yep I had that problem after a while with an old FX. I wore out the swivel area and it would suddenly whistle like a kettle. Bought a new FX and haven't had the problem again.

In fact it's been so long since I fiddled with settings and such I'm not even certain I'm using the vpap auto ....that might be memory loss though oh dear... Re: Had UPPP, Do I Have To Get A New Doc, To Get Help With This?
Hi, Unfortunately I don't have time to read every post in this interesting thread just yet (I'm at work) but I thought it might help to tell you that I had UPPP surgery as well as the usual other butchery that less informed ENT's like to recommend and that I would like to forget. I wont go into the ...

Re: New need help
Hi Mate, It's hard when you start but take heart - it really does get to the point that you wont even notice the mask and it is worth pushing through the first few weeks of discomfort. Now I have to feel my face when I wake up to see if I am wearing it. The brain seems to eventually block it out jus...
