Re: QUITTING CPAP

The Fischer & Paykel FF 431 and 432 masks sit under the chin, so no lower lip issues. The 432 comes with a foam insert and for me, it has reduced the nose pain. I wake up a little sore but it goes away in a few minutes.

Re: Feel worse with CPAP?

Just *my* experience. I've been on CPAP 2 years this month. About a year-ish ago (until just recently) I started feeling crappy again. Napping while the kids were at school, over sleeping in the morning, not focused on anything, etc. My Doc started me on sertraline (zoloft) after checking all basic ...

Re: Any "younger" people on here?

Hey Singlemom, Sorry to hear that it's not going well. It seems that there is something going wrong with your treatment, or there is some other underlying condition. Have you been tested for anemia, lyme disease, mononucleosis, etc? There are lots of conditions that can make you feel worn out and t...

Re: Any "younger" people on here?

I'm 26, and was diagnosed at 24. I think it's somehow related to living in a basement, or I just can't get the settings right. I was extremely excited to have been diagnosed. I thought it would explain my daytime naps, inability to wake up, help with a few pounds, more energy, etc. Instead, I now na...

I had 3 sets of tubes as a child, and I'm nearing my 2nd set as an adult.

Re: OT: tongue problems (stress? nutrition? ??)

Geographic tongue? My son has this. From what I've read, it's not really "painful" but can be uncomfortable. Spicy foods, stress, allergy or asthma flares can make his tongue do some funky things!

Re: Forma FFM leaks! Any Ideas!

I use the 431 with the foam piece that comes from a different one.

Looking at the site, I couldn't find much difference in the masks except for the forehead piece and foam.

If you can't get the leak under control, you could try a different F&P.

Okay, (duh) I found the display. Now how do I view the clinical menu?

Remstar m-series auto

Is there any way to view or do anything on this machine? It's not mine, someone wants me to help them figure it all out. He doesn't use it and I've been up his butt about it. So while I have it, I'm going to clean it.

Any info?

Re: How many hours should CPAP be worn per night?

The CPAP should be worn for every sleeping minute, as all posters said. I use a full face mask because I'm a mouth breather and recently found out I have a deviated septum. I use the Fisher and Paykel (sp?) 431. Change your ramp setting weekly. If you start at a 4, raise it one cm per week. So tonig...

Re: 2.9 AHI?

Oh for the love of God. Are we never satisfied with anything? An AHI of 2.9? Most OSA suffers on xPAP would "kill" to get a number like that. I was starting to feel tired during the day again, and was just wondering if that was a good number. That's it. Is this board's purpose not to help all users...

2.9 AHI?

Is an AHI of 2.9 good, bad, okay? I've been on CPAP just shy of 2 years. Recently I've noticed my AHI (HI) climbing a bit. Is my number still in the decent range, or are there things I can do to lower it?

Re: Have a sleep lab type question?

Why is the leak rate in the lab so insanely high? I recently had another study, and brought my mask just in case they didn't have one. The tech wouldn't let me use it because it compromised the data. So I tried on another FF mask, but couldn't stand it. She finally let me try mine. But she made me p...

Re: Short Trip -not taking CPAP

I can't recommend it, but I have. About a month-ish after I started CPAP I got a call from my mother that my great grandmother wasn't doing well and would probable pass soon. I booked 3 plane tickets less than 24 hours after that call for myself and 2 special needs kids. CPAP wasn't even on my radar...
