Hi Jennifer, When a month is up, if you're still feeling it very difficult to breathe up at your pressure of 15, perhaps talk to your doctor about letting you try a bi-pap machine, or at the very least, a cpap with C-Flex. Either of those can be set to drop the pressure each time you exhale - can ma...

mask popping out
hi txlxk, Don'tcha' just love it when the experts insist there's "no difference" when you know well and good from your own experience, there is! heheh I don't know if this has anything to do with your mask coming apart sometimes when you're sleeping.....but... have you ever taken that mask apart to ...

colds and congestion
Hi Ben, When I have a stuffy nose cold, I use a full face mask. Despite the name "full face", it covers only the nose and mouth, not the entire face. A full face mask allows you to breathe through your mouth when you just can't pull enough air in through a stopped up nose. Good thing to have in your...

Swift pillows or Breeze pillows?
Hi Bill, If your wife is using the ResMed Swift, I think there are only 3 sizes of "pillow" for the Swift. I looked on the ResMed company website just now and see only this listed as replacement parts for the Swift: Mirage Swift Nasal Pillows System (includes three pillow sizes: S, M, L) The pillows...

good detective work, Lana! heheh
Good detective work on your part, Lana! Before spending money on a chin strap, I'd put my creative cap on and think about some things you might have right there at home. Ace bandage, stretchy headband or sweatband, soft straps (lingerie, perhaps) that you aren't using. Experiment a bit and you might...

sounds like "aerophagia"
Hi K501, I'm no doctor or anything in the health field - just another cpap user (autopap, actually). What you describe sure sounds like "aerophagia" - swallowing air while you sleep, leading to painful bloating that might take all day to subside. This happens to some people on any kind of cpap, espe...

hi Apnatic!
Hi Apnatic You mentioned: "sorry guys, to have women on here, you know we seem to be the minority in the sleep apnea area..." heheh, yep, we women are here too. The traditional profile for OSA sufferers is "middle aged male, overweight, thick neck...yadda yadda" when in fact OSA occurs in all ages, ...

sleep study at home
Yes, smoozr, home testing is available. Here is an excerpt from a CBS report at CBS report on home testing for sleep apnea (click here) "With home testing, either a technician or the patient hooks up a portable version of a sleep-lab's respiratory machine at bedtime, and a doctor later checks the re...

good advice, Jade
Hi Jade, I sure welcome any pointers that can help make this therapy more comfortable. You had some good advice for feline, as well as anyone who has tender skin. I wouldn't say I'm "tough-skinned" (what woman would want to say that!) but luckily I never hadn't any real trouble other than leaks and ...

420E auto with separate heated humdifier...
Hi wader,
I use a separate heated humidifier (the Fisher & Paykel HC150 heated humidifier) with my PB Goodknight 420E autopap. Works fine for me having them as separate units.

hi garym
Cool...another Breeze and Activa fan! Best masks around, imho. Snoring and getting very drowsy driving were the main things that made me look into getting treatment too. Sure has made a difference. Will look forward to seeing your posts on the board.

Remstar auto and PB Goodknight 420E auto
Hi wader, I have two machines. My main machine that I bought online back in February has been the Puritan Bennett Goodknight 420E autopap. My backup machine is a Respironics Remstar auto. I have the software for both, so am able to check my data whenever I try a new mask. I use the ResMed Activa wit...

question for Paul
Hi Paul, I realize masks are very individual preferences and fits, but was curious - did you still feel the same about the Snapp after using it a few more times? I've held off trying that one. Looked interesting, but the more I thought about it...I decided to buy others more likely to suit me. Just ...

I can't resist trying some of the newer masks too. One never knows when something will turn out to be that "mask in a million". And as you said, JudyAnn, it's nice to have some other types of interface sitting around when you want to use something different on any given night. After a one night flin...
