DS2 Clinical Manual

Hi All. It's been a while since I've posted but need some help please. Yes, I did get my new machine from Respironics and I need to change some settings. I'm having a lot of hypopneas every night and getting headaches. Can someone point me to a Providers/clinical setup manual? Thanks in advance. Linda

Re: Dreamstation - CFlex or aflex in auto mode

For my machine, it was CORRECT. I've been on CPAP for 13 years with 4 different machines. This isn't my first rodeo. Hmmm, maybe your response is why I no longer post on this site.

Re: Dreamstation - CFlex or aflex in auto mode

Hi All. I haven't been around for a while - my therapy has been great. I just got the Dreamstation Auto, and wanted to add some info in regards to accessing the provider "set-up" mode. Due to age or stupidity, I couldn't access it. Wasted a couple of hours trying - holding those stupid buttons down ...

Power Supply for Heated Hose

Hi All. It's been a long time since I've posted, but health has not been great the last year or so. I'm wondering if anyone has an old power supply for the Aussie heated hose that I can get from you. If you have one, please contact me. Mine bit the dust, but the hose is still good. Thanks in advance...

Re: Palpitations or what?

"like having a carp flopping around in my chest" That is exactly what it feels like. I get PVC's too. I'm sure I have them all day, but only feel them when I first go to bed and relax. I notice I get the PVCs more if I try to cut down on the Neurotin that I take for nerve pain in my legs. So I stic...

Re: Ever had vertigo due to inner ear infection?

I agree on the "Epley Maneuver" http://www.dizziness-and-balance.com/disorders/bppv/bppv.html I have vertigo very bad, with vomiting, for a couple of days. I finally googled vertigo and found the above site, and did the maneuver, with the help of my husband. It worked wonders. The next day I was fin...

Re: "Deconstructed" AEIOMED Headrest Mask

Hi Joy. No. The lower strap and the upper strap are not connected. They are two individual lace stretch straps, with silicone backing which helps hold them against my skin and hair. You can buy it on ebay (or a material shop near you if you aren't rural like I am). Just type in: "stretch lace silico...

Re: "Deconstructed" AEIOMED Headrest Mask

I have had hose and pillow covers for the Headrest, but nothing (and I mean nothing) stops my rainout. I think I get rainout because my pressure is so low that the air flow can't dry out the hose. So, I use my humidifier as passover, and I have no problems. Actually, I get less congested with passov...

Re: "Deconstructed" AEIOMED Headrest Mask

Catnapper --- you are brilliant. I redid my setup on my headrest, using your idea of the loop to hold the upper part of the mask away from my forehead. It works great... I used some "sticky velcro" that I had on hand. I formed the loop (and the hose sticks to the inside of the loop). Then I tacked t...

Anyone want to trade a new Bravo for a Headrest?

I have a new Bravo that I have never used, and don't plan to. So, I would like to trade it for a Headrest (even a decapitated one). If you have a Headrest and found it didn't work for you, please contact me. Thanks.

Re: "Deconstructed" AEIOMED Headrest Mask

Also, I still use and love my lower strap -- the one over my nasal pillows. I still use a 1-2" stretchy ribbon which has rubberlike silicone on the under side. The same stuff on babies headbands and on the thigh-high nylons. The silicone really keeps the ribbon on the pillow, and also holds the ribb...

Re: "Deconstructed" AEIOMED Headrest Mask

I've still been using the makeup pads between my forehead and the "hard upper portion" of the de-cap-itated mask. I actually tape the makeup pads to the upper hose of the mask to keep them in place and I reuse them for a week or two. I don't use the makeup pads to "angle" the device at all -- just a...

Re: Shut machine off?

Yes, it will record a large leak. But when you turn it off and then turn it back on, if that causes you to wake up too much, then you're losing sleep. I would go with getting back to sleep fast, knowing why I'm getting some large leaks.

Do whatever is comfortable for you.

Re: Broke a blood vessel

A few people on this forum have mentioned that they actually get "air leaks" up through their nose, into their tear ducts, and into their eyes. Tears flow into the ducts when you cry -- that's why your nose runs. ... So, it makes sense that the reverse can happen. So, maybe that's what's going on wi...

Re: Been a While. Hi everyone. New masks anyone?

Hi again everyone -- y'all give me that old warm and fuzzy feeling. I just had a small operation for "female things", and yes, I did use my cpap at the hospital (only there one night). But I didn't use it during the operation itself. My husband who is extremely physically fit (a true Marine, even if...
