Re: Newly diagnosed and confused (Canada)

Cflex is supposed to provide exhale relief, however I've never really found it all that helpful. AutoPAP is what has helped me more then anything else. With AutoPAP, the machine has a range of pressures that it will operate at, it operates at the low end of the pressure range unless or until it dete...

Re: What do you talk about with your sleep Dr?

I like my Dr... well she's not really a Dr, but rather a Physicians Assistant I think. Generally speaking, I don't have any real issues related to CPAP, but do have to go see them once a year to keep insurance happy. We usually talk about what new masks might be out there, or something... Either way...

Re: Mayo Clincic report on Aspirin from 2008

I'll ad... If you have someone to help you, have them pack your CPAP up so it can go with you. I've learned that hospitals, especially ERs don't really have CPAP ready for patients to use

Re: Cpap with a cold

It's funny, when I first started using CPAP, I was very afraid of what would happen when I got a cold. The first time I had one, i tried to use a mask, rather then my normal nasal pillow gear, it was even worse for me trying to use a full face mask, I had already gotten used to sleeping with my mout...

Re: young new user-wishes to hear tips from experts

Lilbean, First, I hope that maybe having the adenoids and tonsils removed helps you to the point where you don't need to use CPAP, however if it doesn't completely work... my advice is to stick with the CPAP for at least a month before you'd consider giving up on it. For me, I felt horrible for the ...

While I've only been using CPAP for a month... I've only cleaned the hose once... No problems yet... However, it seems logical, that there are probably as many different conditions are there are people who use CPAP. I could fully understand that one person might have problems if they don't wash and/...

If RO filtered water is causing a bad smell... I'd be leary of drinking that same water. If might also want to look into a deionizing filter... They go after a RO filter... Deionized water is supposed to be even cleaner then distilled... I've got one, but I haven't changed the filters in a while so ...

Re: sleeping with mouth open... quick fix?

You might be a redneck if you use duct tape to tape your mouth shut when using CPAP... Either that, or your name is Red Green. Paper surgical tape however... is what most people would use, and it works quite well actually. I've read I think about using duct tape as a quick fix for sleeping with an o...

We just need to get Hillary in the Whitehouse, that way we can all be party of a wonderful system like they have at the VA... (actually, I've heard some good things about the VA, it's not all just bad) The V.A. is working with limited (BUSH) resources. The scheduling is the result of trying to make ...
