Not-so squeaky clean skin?

Is there a nasal mask that doesn't require your skin to be squeaky clean to seal? Or a skin lotion that won't interfere with the mask sealing?? I sometimes have to use astringent to get my face clean enough so my comfortgel doesn't slide around and leak. Even then my face sometimes gets oily in reac...

Re: trouble with sleeping with partner

My husband is grateful for the cpap and mask! So am I, it's made sleeping together a gazillon times better which in turn improved our relationship. Sure, it took a bit to adjust and to learn how to cuddle without him pulling the hose or my jetting cold air on him. A king-sized bed does help (alot) w...

Re: Still hate my CPAP

What is it that's keeping you awake? Are you feeling claustrophobic with it? Is it the sound? Discomfort? Leaks? Or just a sense of intrusion? I sometimes feel like I'm suffocating (esp w/ nasal pillows like swift lite) and have this urge to rip it off. It's very hard to fall asleep when you're forc...

Re: Need help choosing a new machine, Intellipap or s8 elite II?

If you go to the main site and look up those machines, you can see their specifications, including their noise level in decibels. Well, yes but the site has the sleepstyle and the M series at about the same level even though as a user I perceive a noticeable difference in sound between the two. So ...

Re: Need help choosing a new machine, Intellipap or s8 elite II?

Does the noise of the resmed S8 AutoSet or Elite II change because of the EasyBreathe? What about the PR One? With the M Series the noise level fluctuates with my breathing(what I call wooshing) and is not constant. My husband and I both find it hard to fall asleep with the variable noise of the mac...

Need help choosing a new machine, Intellipap or s8 elite II?

I could use some help choosing a new machine. I've been using a basic Sleepstyle machine, and I'm looking to upgrade. It's ok, but not great. I'd like something quieter and that compensates for leaks. The compact size is nice for travel. I don't really use the humidifier that much since I live in Or...

Help! Suggestions for alternative to Swift LT please?

I'm looking for an alternative to the Swift LT. I prefer it over the Swift II as the pillows seal better in my nose and I can sleep on either side equally well. However I'm really tired of the way water condenses in the mask and then pours down my nostril and into my throat when I change positions. ...

Blowing air on them worked with the two girl cats. One won't come near my face and the other doesn't even sleep on me anymore. However the third cat is 'my' cat who I've had for 15 years, and he's totally unphased by the the cpap stuff. He used to wake me up for attention or food by putting his nose...

My blood pressure has dropped from high to normal.
I dream now, which is nice.
My psoriasis has faded enough that I don't need to cover it with makeup
I wake up feeling ready to face the day
The sunken black circles under my eyes have faded

Hungry Cat! Advise?

So the past couple of nights have sucked. I haven't felt rested, and I just couldn't figure out where the leak noise was coming from or how to fix it. Well, last night I was adjusting the hose flopped over my head when I realized I had felt air. A closer examination showed little puncture marks all ...

Swift Lite issues - condensation and loud breathing.

For the most part I really love my new Swift Lite. It's a huge improvement over the Swift II for me, it seals better and I love being able to sleep on both sides. That said I still have some issues with it and I was hoping for some advice? Noise: The mask itself is extremely quiet. When I have it on...

About to buy cpap with data, which one would you pick?

I want a cpap that is data capable. I'm most interested in having the ability to check on the screen the next morning if there was leak problems or events. I'll probably also get software and keep track that way. I'd like exhalation relief because I find it easier to fall asleep with it on, particul...

1) Swift II 2) ComfortGel 3) Mirage Micro Other than the whole 'not-able-to-sleep-on-both-sides" thing, I love the Swift II! It stays sealed all night, it's reasonably quiet, the air venting from it doesn't hit or otherwise annoy me. (can't say if it would bother hubby, as that's the side the hose i...

Wow! What a difference nasal pillows make!

I've been reluctant to use any nasal pillow system since having something pressed against my nostrils makes my brain think I can't breathe. But while the comfortgel is comfortable, it's also noisy, has rain out issues, and still leaks air into my eyes. So I was loaned a swift II to try for a couple ...

Thank you!!
