Re: OT: Paula Deen
It bugs me as well that every recipe features a stick of butter. I have extremely high triglycerides and I could not eat any of her cooking if I wanted to. She needs to walk the walk and talk the talk now. Dietary fat gets a bad rap here. Dietary fat CAN contribute to high triglycerides, but only i...

I don't get convincing results using EPR, so usually it's off. I've tried increasing the minimum pressure and that has provided mixed results as well. Historically my best AHI numbers are at 5-13cm of pressure, but when AHI started to increase, I increased pressure to 8-13cm. Sounds like you need t...

Wow, those photographs really are incredible. Thanks for sharing!
Please add me to the list of people curious about the thing in the basket in the first picture. It does look like a snake hiding in there.

The only thing I want to add to the above suggestions of leaving the mask on and detaching the hose is that I also have added a quick coupler from CPAP.com to make removing the hose from my Humidifier a lot easier. The coupler comes off of the Humidifier outlet elbow with just a twist whereas using...

Are you using any kind of exhale pressure relief available on your machine? I'm not familiar with yours. My AHI was basically cut in half when I turned EPR on.

Re: Newbie mouth breather ready to call it quits
I use a full face mask. I take a small thin micro fiber towel and cut a triangular hole in it for my nose and mouth. The towel completely covers my face, including my eyes, from ear to ear, under my mask. It takes some getting use to, but it really is effective at stopping the leaks, especially wher...

I have to agree with the Sudafed recommendation, too, although like Mary Z, I buy the generic, which is far cheaper. It does have some side effects for me, including insomnia if I take it too close to bedtime. I usually take it first thing in the morning and again maybe just after lunch. Sometimes I...

I bought this mattress (attached) and have had no back pain and no shoulder pain. It is awesome...doesn't sleep hot....and it is two-sided. Most mattress warehouse type places now will tell you..."you don't need a two-sided mattress". That's a load of @#^! Being able to flip a mattress now and agai...

Pugsy is right. It's thinly disguised spam.

BEIJING (UPI) -- Chinese scientists say they have a plan to save the Earth from a possible collision with an asteroid that could take place in 2036. It isn't like a post on the designated hitter rule or something. Is that controversial? There should not be designated hitters. Every player, including the pitcher, should have to bat. How can there be any disagreement on that point? But what if some people are facing the equivalent of an electrica...

Okay so 10 hours after turning it off should be safe then is what I'm getting? No, what you should be getting is those smokers the #&@% out of your house. Second hand smoke is harmful to your health: Low levels of smoke exposure, including exposures to secondhand tobacco smoke, lead to a rapid and ...

1. Not everyone is good at using the internet. If they manage to make it to CPAPtalk anyway and need CPAP help, I don't want to throw up another barrier. I'd rather deal with the spam and sniping being anonymous allows for in exchange for catching those who badly need what we offer. I believe this ...
