Re: I'm Baaaaaack.....and with questions

No headache this morning. I think it was a combination of adjustment, coming down off of being sick, and finally sleeping after a week of the worst apnea I have ever had. That and I think I got into a cycle of ibuprofen dependence from taking it so often while I was sick. Good news - another 8 hour ...

Re: Sleep disruption in kids mimics ADHD

Yeah, I'm growing tired of the gluten free bandwagon. I have two relatives who suffer from Celiac's and the results are not pretty. Those are the people who need to avoid gluten. Not the people who feel a tiny bit bloated when they eat way too much processed flour products. To me, the "gluten free" ...

Re: I'm Baaaaaack.....and with questions

Mild headaches normal - no, not for me anyway. You got a brick - a machine with no data - run, don't walk, back to that DME & demand a fully data capable machine. Below is a link to help you choose a good machine. http://maskarrayed.wordpress.com/ Don't let the DME win on this, the data will help y...

Re: F&P Pilairo Mask Review & ResMed S9AutoSet cpap machine

Funny, this is the same setup I just got Monday. I would say that masks are a personal thing. Personally I have no issues with the strap, and my head isn't huge - 7-1/8 hat size. I find that the mask fits me very well and seals great. It is a bit loud, especially on inhale. But my wife says she can'...

Re: I'm Baaaaaack.....and with questions

Hi, As a general rule of thumb, you want the lower pressure to be within 1 or 2 centimeters of your 95% pressure (essentially, your average pressure). The upper number doesn't matter too much as long as it is high enough to give you some headroom to accommodate peak pressure needs. That is where a ...

Re: I'm Baaaaaack.....and with questions

OK, got into the clinicians menu on the machine. EPR Off..??? Pressure 6-9 (makes sense, my titration indicated either 7 or . Last night's results: Pressure 8.8 AHI 0.7 I bumped up the pressure to 9.6, I don't know, an irrational fear. Is it ok that I was running close to the upper limit? I turned o...

I'm Baaaaaack.....and with questions

So. Haven't been on here in quite a while. Up until last night, I had been off CPAP for over 2 years. Some backstory. In 2008, I was diagnosed with OSA after doing a sleep study at the request of my ENT. I had gone in complaining of snoring and walked out with an AHI of 27 and a lowest saturation le...

Re: Help me get back on the Wagon

So more nights, more data. Third night same as the second. Started off well but woke up to leaking and could not get it to re-seat. It does not help that I have issues with a sick 3 year old waking up all hours of the night. Last night, however, went much better. Was able to stay on the machine, wit...

Re: Help me get back on the Wagon

Yeah, I've been through those tips. I'm wondering if the mouth pillow size is too large (it's the large). It only comes with the one size, so I haven't ever been able to try the medium.

Re: Help me get back on the Wagon

Tired...but my schedule is very variable now, and I worked all day on painting my son's room, so that was tiring. Remember too, that my AHI pre CPAP was less than 30, so that will play into things as well. So after 1 good night last night...not so much. I could not get the mask to stop leaking, and ...

Re: Help me get back on the Wagon

So I was able to download my data, finally. Needed to re-install my smartcard reader driver. So here it is: Use time: 4:44 Pressure - 9.5 cm Humidity - 3 OA: 3.2 H: 0.8 AHI: 4.0 Vib. Snore: 11.0 Avg. Leak: 40.19 Large Leak: 0% Looking at my leak graph, there were three spikes, and two longer plateau...

Re: Help me get back on the Wagon

So: Night number one. Fell asleep around 11:30. Late, but I was reading and that always keeps me up. Humidity to 3%, Pressure at 9.5 (yes, not a high pressure, but that's even up from my titration!) Made it until my wife woke up to go to the bathroom at 4:00. At which point, I felt the burning desir...

Re: Help me get back on the Wagon

With a properly operating CPAP system, the air flow in or out of the mouth or nose is no greater than normal breathing without CPAP. CPAP only provides an increased air pressure , not an increased air flow , compared to normal breathing. So I am still at a loss to what you two are describing as "ai...

Help me get back on the Wagon

Hello all. Long time, no post. I wonder if any of you remember me. In any event, It's been about 9 months since I last used my CPAP. Prior to that I had been using it for about 9 months with decent success. Here's the story. Diagnosed with mild OSA (29) and given CPAP. Started CPAP with a RemStar Pr...

New mask....what to get?

Well, I am now eligible for another mask under my insurance's timing. The question is, what to get? Here's my status: Currently using a Swift LT. I like this mask a lot, it does not leak at ALL unless I really turn on my face, at which point it pushes off. Very comfortable. However, I have experienc...
