So you are saying that if you leave the hose in the "down" position, that its not noisy? I used to put the hose over my head with the Activa but now I just leave it down and to the side as I have the heated hose and it seems to heavy to put it over my head. Just like everything else, some good night...

Hey, I have not been on here for a while but I do check in now and then. I use the ResMed Activa mask and I like it a lot but I want to get another mask. The new Hybrid seems really nice. My questions are these: Is is quiet or is it air noisy? If your mouth opens, does it help prevent the "parched" ...

Hey RG, its all Greek to me that is for sure. Of course, I kept taking the mask off a lot in the beginning because it was the first night and all and it was making noise. It also automatically turns on when you breathe and automatically turns off when you take it off. I am learning from you and the ...

Hey Bill, That's a good idea because I think our bodies have to get used to new machines/masks and it may take a while. I don't think that raising it to 8 which is only 2 numbers will make that much of a difference but if it does, I will put it back down. I am willing to take the "chance", after all...

Hey Bill, Thanks for your input and advice. My original settings last year when they were set by the respiratory therapist at my doc's office was 6-13. When I got the new machine from CPAP for Seniors she set it at 4-20. I changed it to 6 because that was my original setting but I am going to put it...

Last night was the first night I used my new Vantage S8 on Auto and at first (I must not have had the lid down tight enough) it made the most awful sounds, snorting, whining, you name it. I thought maybe it was the heated hose's fault (which I love) and then I fooled around with it and it settled do...

Lori,

I can see it and its a very nice picture. Look at mine, I am old, fat and tired from not sleeping God knows how many years before I diagnosed myself in July of 2004.

Its very nice to see all of you when we are talking. Thanks for sharing.

Hey RockNRoll,

I agree and I left my picture on from the beginning and the pictures of my equipment (which the majority could do without) but hey, I like it and I am 65 years old and I can do what I want.

Yes, that is what Benita told me at CPAP for Seniors that it uses the 5.6 software the same as the other ones. I got an e-mail saying they have shipped the machine so I should be getting it soon. My main excitment is that I will be able to see how I am doing on it. Will keep you guys posted. Judy

Hey Tenpin,

That is exactly how I felt when I turned 65 in January. I was so happy that I made it this far and that I was finally getting paid for it!

Hey John, Yes, being able to fill the tank without taking it off and spilling the water all over the place, is a plus already. I have the Auto Respond now and I don't like it because there is no software for it and I want to be able to see how I am doing each night. That is why I just waited for the...

I turned 65 this past January 10 and have been a "HOSEHEAD" since July of 2004.

I am very happy to have this wonderful forum to go to when I need some answers and encouragement.

Thanks to all of you whatever your ages are!

Sweet Dreams to all and to all a Good Night.

Hey Everyone, I ordered my new Vantage S8 Auto through the CPAP for Seniors and she called me today and said that they are in and she is sending me one today. She said that I can order the software (she said it uses 5.6 software) separately from CPAP.com so I am doing that next month (spent too much...
