Re: SleepyHead 0.9.8-1 Testing Builds

One minor problem: the time of beginning CPAP therapy always displays one hour later than actual time. Last night for example, it shows CPAP beginning at 21:30 and ending at 08:00 when I know it began at 20:30 and I awoke at 07:00. your machine may just be off by that much, that's why there's an of...

Re: SleepyHead 0.9.8-1 Testing Builds

I'm new to Sleepyhead today. So far the information has been very useful, thanks to Pugsy's tips. One minor problem: the time of beginning CPAP therapy always displays one hour later than actual time. Last night for example, it shows CPAP beginning at 21:30 and ending at 08:00 when I know it began a...

Re: Sex with cpap user?

After a while on CPAP he'll be less tired. Ask my wife, she'll testify that sex gets lots better then.

Thank you for posting. I think the reason you haven't had a lot of response yet is because we're all very (too) aware of what you've said - it's more or less old news here, which is why we're all trying to get on board with Cpap - you're preaching to the converted , but I guess it never hurts ...

for OSA, CPAP use may prevent premature death

Terry Young, PhD, professor of epidemiology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, says in a news release. " Our findings suggest -- but cannot prove -- that people diagnosed with sleep apnea should be treated, and if CPAP is the prescribed treatment, regular use may prevent premature death." Sleep...

I'm one of those heretics that uses tap water. I don't drain the vessel daily; I just rinse, drain and refill every night. I clean only occasionally One time I was too impatient to use vinegar and wait so I tried putting some rock salt and water inside, putting on the cap, and shaking vigorously. In...

Okay, that's just not right... :) ...if Filbert can get a seal with his beard, why can't I make any mask seal with my goatee? I've suspected for a while it has more to do with the shape of my face than it does with the facial hair, but I'm unwilling to shave to find out for sure. I think you're rig...

I get a pretty good seal with the Ultra Mirage full face mask. OTOH, I've never tried CPAP without the beard. My beard has been short, although it's usually long and I noticed little difference.

I wasn't asked to shave for the sleep study or by the DME.

I love the Hubble photos. I've downloaded a lot of them and created a free slideshow and screensaver from them.

Hit the big six-oh last early month. I'm retired and had plenty of time to clean up the yard and patio. We had a nice Barbecue with some family and friends. I took my old (1976 BMW R-75) motorcycle to an old mechanic for a tuneup and it runs better than it has in years. Then two day later I was stru...

I never thought of THAT :-)

She thought the article was not positive or objective... and remarked that my CPAP hasn't stopped HER from cuddling.

I have a full beard - sometimes I go months between trimming it - and the Mirage Ultra has worked well for me. I'd recommend finding a DME where you can lie down in a sleep position wiht each mask and try it while you wiggle around. At my sleep study the tech tried several masks on me and took a lot...
