Re: Big Weight Loss
A co-worker has lost about 100lbs over the past year. I asked him about it. He switched to a strict vegetarian diet, no more fast food, etc, and began an intense daily exercise regimen. It can be done. He rides his bike for miles and miles. Still says he's got another 50lbs to go. He also gets regu...

Re: Allergic reaction to ResMed Mirage Quattro mask
oh wow..one tired Pup. You just described exactly what i've been dealing with. The new mask I purchased in July has caused me much grief, with my face purely RAW in the area of contact, flaking and in need of a stat dermotology appt. Contact dermatitis was the diagnosis..and a costly RX to go with i...

Re: Colonoscopy/Endoscopy double whammy!
HAHAHA Bart...that's great. We've even had a few patients SING...quite loudly...through their colonoscopies. As for the bad experiences posted, in 20 years of being in the GI field, I can only count on one hand the patients who had a 'bad experience/pain/perforation'. These procedures are performed ...

Re: Colonoscopy/Endoscopy double whammy!
If it sets your mind at ease...I've been in the GI field over 20 years, you will be fine. Generally a colonoscopy is done in a left side lying position. you'll be out for 15-20 (30-35 for a double endoscopy) and you'll never even know when it starts or is over. By all means, bring your cpap, and pla...

Re: Is it worth repairing my unit?
that's a great price, $165.00. Really was peaved to discover Resmed has halted the internet sales of their units. Seems if someone has
a prescription in hand, they should NOT have to hide or haggle to find their medical equipment. Unreal...a monopoly!

Is it worth repairing my unit?
finally heard back from Resmed, and my Vantage is in need of $250 worth of repairs. It was mftg in 2006, has 3400 hrs of use logged, and they are replacing it to bring it nearly back to new, with a warranty of 6 months. Since I purchased it outright and have a crappy $2500.00 deductible for DME, it ...

Re: Anyone else experience trouble with Vantage?
oh, and just to clarify, I didn't purchase my unit through a dealer.....bought it from a fellow
forum member who needed a bi-pap and only had used the unit for approx 2 months. Still
was a good deal, but hoping to get a bit more mileage off the Vantage before we part company

Re: Anyone else experience trouble with Vantage?
Thank you for thinking of that info and passing it on Slinky. I did some research, and although my unit was manufactured the same year, it wasn't one of the serial numbers included in their recall. Keeping my fingers crossed this won't be a costly venture, and I will keep the thread going with resul...

Re: Anyone else experience trouble with Vantage?
No, it only continued to get worse. Continued to shut down & restart over and over...until I couldnt take it any longer. One Resmed rep. felt my 'sensor' had gone bad......whatever. I broke down and called a DME friday and gave them my unit to ship to Resmed for repair and renting a loaner (sleep de...

Re: Anyone else experience trouble with Vantage?
Well well........I received my reply from Resmed:
ResMed is a manufacturer and does not conduct business with the general public. I have copied the dealer
locator to further assist since you are unable to reach anyone live.

Re: Anyone else experience trouble with Vantage?
I must admit with all the knowledge you two posted on the warranties, someone who hasn't read the fine print may benefit from this refresher. I too, find the 'water ingress' a humorous condition of the terms of the warranty. They may as well add 'electrical malfunction' so therefore if you plug in t...
