Re: POLL-How much do you use your humidifier????

I use mine in passover all the time. My Aura/Everest Nasal Pillows tend to rainout if I use any heat--even with the Aussie heated hose (which I use 100% of the time). And for some reason distilled water burns like crazy if it drips into your nasal passages--sort of gives you a rude awakening. Can't ...

Re: Headrest deconstruction and gender

I had been struggling with CPAP for a year and a half until I got the Aura and an Auto. From that point things started looking up. I finally started feeling like CPAP was doing me some good. I really liked the headgear for it's ease of taking on/off and it's stability, but I hated the "hat hair" in ...

Long overdue PurSleep feedback

This is a VERY long overdue feedback on my Pursleep trial. When I first received my very nice free sample package I had to postpone my trial for a while due to some ongoing health problems of a family member that interrupted my sleep. I didn't think I would get a true result until I could be under m...

Rooster, About 2 1/2 years ago I tried out one for about 20 mins. at my sleep lab (they are good about letting patients try masks). It felt like it was moving(lifting) up and down with in/exhalations. That was kind of weird feeling, but I suppose you could get used to it. I'm a side sleeper and the ...

Jen, If you are like most women, the headgear is probably a bit too large. Here is the link (I hope) to what I did to make it fit. http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic.php?p=211914&highlight=#211914 I have since started using RG's homemade strap. My leak rate is around 13. Also if you use gel (ayr, KY,...

Yes, RG, but then the world would never have been introduced to the term "Mantyhose".

Hi Rose, The following is what I wrote quite a while back when this topic came up: "I shortened the strap (that goes around the base of your head) by pinching up a portion of the fuzzy part of the strap, then folding it over and using a safety pin to hold it in the shortened position. This made it s...

I used it for a while but had lots of leaking, and it really bothered the bridge of my nose--haven't yet found a mask that fits over my nose that doesn't bother me. I have used the Aura Headrest for a long time now.

Some people seem to notice a difference right away, but for some of us it takes time. It took me a year just to find the right mask/machine (with the help of this forum). It was another 6 months or more before I knew I felt less tired--the improvement was very gradual. I still awaken numerous times...

Re: Water inmachine

Hope it works out well for you. Kathy Thanks, Kathy. I used it all night without any problems so I'm hoping that there will be no future problems from this. A couple of years a go I had my first machine and took a trip to Houston and stayed in a hotel. I set the machine on the night stand and went ...

Thanks Den. I think that's what I'll do.

Guest, thanks for the advice. I read in the link above where someone used their hair dryer on low and still damaged their machine. The low setting on my hair dryer may also be too hot. Hopefully there will be no problems now.

OK this is what I did. After draining all the drops of water out, I used a vacuum to pull air through it for a bit. Then I plugged it in and turned it on. At first it would worked, but the auto start didn't seem to work. After leaving it on for a while even the auto start was working. It seems to be...

Thanks everybody for the info. I must admit I'm a bit computer illiterate. Right now I'm making my way through Karen's link.
Thanks again.

Water in machine--need advice please

We were trying to lift our mattress when it slipped and bumped into my Remstar Auto which landed upside down on the floor. It is not far off the floor so I don't think the landing was very hard (we have carpet), but the resevoir had water in it, and some went into the air outlet. I immediately unplu...
