Re: Cheap heated hose

Do the Repti Heat cable or the Aussie heated hose prevent rainout just in the hose or do they also work for rainout in a nasal mask as well?
Yes, they will greatly reduce rainout in the mask as well.. Now that it getting warmer outside, you may find that you don't need either.

Re: Legality of unscripted resale by those in sleep field

Here's an interesting solution to the whole prescription issue.. http://www.cpapprescription.com I read through their website, and I believe they will basically sell you a prescription for an xpap machine for $71.50. No office visit required.. Just fill in an online form.. If you want, for an extra ...

Re: Cheap heated hose

Hey PurpleSwan, Lots of options here.. The simpleist - Get a 15watt cable and a hose cover.. Run the hose and the cable inside the cover, attach the cable to the hose at the end closest to the mask with tape or velcro and youre done.. The cable should be run straight along hose. No winding. Re: obtaining a CPAP machine without a prescription

CPAP without a prescription is pretty easy... I purchased my first machine from craigslist.com and my second was from seconwindcpap.com. I purchased the first without doing a lot of research, it wasn't an autopap and wasn't data capable, but It was still enough for me to experience what a good night...

Re: Cheap heated hose

I've been using the same cable for almost a year now... I run the cable straight along the hose, not spiraled. Wrapping the cable around and around the hose will concentrate the warmth and also increase the odds of melting your hose. The cable will be cooler the more you spread it out, or hotter if'...

Maybe 80 watts is a bit much... Perhaps you should stick with the "demister out of my fairmont ghia" http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic.php?p=272855&sid=c750cf77962dbde145b6b7b9687ceba3 Currently I'm using the 15w cable, and I reduced the power with a Repti Rheostat (~15$US). I have it on the lowest ...

I ordered my current machine from: http://www.secondwindcpap.com

Shipping was fast. Unit was exactly as described. I was very happy. There prices and selection seem to vary wildly. Some days they would have what I wanted at a good price and some days... not so much.

Doctors and tests are really nice to have... Prescriptions are also nice, but there are ways around that also... I bought a used machine and tried it.. I started with a machine I found on Craig's list, and an mp3 player/voice recorder as my data recorder. I adjusted the pressure until I stopped snor...

Placed my order... I know it'll be like 1/2 price in two months on cpapauction, but I couldn't wait. The close-up pictures on cpap.com sold me... As for the heated travel hose... Crank it up to the max. When it you get rainout, add a heated hose. What's this moderation stuff about.

I've only been a hosehead for 5 months now... When I started.. I was buying a new mask every week. Some of the masks I hated, some I only disliked intensely. CPAP makes enough of a change in my life that I am willing to battle the mask leaks, pressure sores, rainout, being strangled by my own hose, ...

My lowest ever recorded AHI was while sleeping on a half-inflated air mattress after a night of excessive drinking. At home I added a memory foam mattress topper. I think it's helped some to lower my AHI.. It kinda has the same sink-in effect. I'm considering adding excessive drinking to my nightly ...
