New machone questions
Hi everyone, I changed from an S8 apap to the S9 apap a couple of weeks ago. i am still using the same mask. The results on the new machine don't seem to be as good as on the S8. My average pressure on the S8 was 10.4 and AI/AHI average was 2.5. based on these figures i set the pressure on the S9 to...

Re: S9 noise question
Thanks for the quick reply Mimi. I just changed to the S9 Auto last night for the first time and haven't thought to update by profile. I tried adjusting the EPR and it made no difference, but i will look at the filter. many thankss

S9 noise question
Well i had my first night with my new resmed S9 auto. All went well except for a noise coming from the machine each time I exhaled. It sounds like a wheezing/whooshing/squeaking noise. If I exhaled very slowly and carefully the noise disappeared. I tried it without the humfidifier and the noise was ...

Re: resscan download probs
Your S8 flow generator actually holds the most recent 360 days worth of summary data, but you need the optional cable that connects an S8 directly to a PC (via a USB port) to be able to download those extra days with ResScan. Cheers, Bill[/quote] Hi Bill, I have just checked and that is what I had m...

Re: resscan download probs
Hi DSM. I have the ResScan card reader and of course the data card. I have used them for the last year and for the first 6 months or so downloaded daily, then weekly without any problems. About 6 months ago I stopped monitoring and downloading as things were going so well. I have an annual check up ...

Hi Ozij, I did think that it might be time in apnea but i get numbers ranging from 11 up to 17 so far. i suppose it could be seconds, but it can't be minutes becuase I am still here <g>. I normally get 1 or 2 red flags or markers per night, sometimes none, but got 5 last night, ranging fro 11 to 17 ...

Dumb question
I have just bought the resmed sofware and have been looking at the results. Most of it seems easy to understand, but i have noticed that if an apnea is indicated it shows a red line with a number on it. What does the number indicate?
i know, the answer is probably staring me in the face.

Progess report
I would welcome advice and feedback on the following: I have just completed my first 3 months on CPAP. In general I feel much better although I have never felt the “lamb in spring” that so many seem to experience. I found about 6 weeks ago that I was getting a bit results obsessive and so I purposel...

Its not actually a reply, more of a question on the same subject. Does anyone know why we are not allowed to buy resscan software here in the UK? I see it's for sale in the US and i presume it is available in Oz, so why not in the UK? I could buy it from the Us but the import duty (about $100) and £...

ResMed machines are biased towards higher numbers but that is because of the way that they detect hyponeas. It does not mean they are less effective. Thats interesting. I have been a little concerned because I have managed to get my leak rate down to 0.3 L/sec average, AI to 0.7 but my HI is still u...

I think that I am going to try to ignore the results and just go on how I feel, maybe just look once a week at what the figures say. I am getting tied up in read-outs and that can be can be adictive <g>. Last night I had the best AHI ever: 2.8 with AI at 0.1 and HI at 2.7, but with a mask fit of ***...
