Meds
Do you take any medications at all (prescription or over the counter)? You would be amazed how many medications can make you tired. There are drugs for almost every condition now that cause fatigue and sleepiness. I am doing well on my BiPap and I'm still tired from the prescriptions I take. Good lu...

Re: Why People Become Overweight
Environmental influences come into play very early, even before you’re born. Researchers sometimes call these in-utero exposures “fetal programming.” Babies of mothers who smoked during pregnancy are more likely to become overweight than those whose mothers didn’t smoke. I had no idea that I'm fat ...

Respironics Premium Chinstrap
I really like the Respironics Premium Chinstrap: https://www.cpap.com/productpage/premium-chinstrap-mouthleak.html It's very different from the Respironics Deluxe Chinstrap. It stays on my head the whole night and is actually quite comfortable. My AHI is always lower if I use the chinstrap, but ever...

Recalls
Usually, a company will only recall a product if it poses a safety hazard. If it causes damage to property, or even the machine itself, we are just out of luck (unless the product is still under warranty). Sucks but that's our legal system for you.

I get it now!
I think (not sure) that Johnny probably uses some kind of program that finds news articles with a keyword like "apnea" in it. That's how some of the streaming news articles appear here even if, as you said, Bert, the article itself really has nothing to do with OSA. I never stopped to think about t...

Today's streaming news......WTF?
Has anybody read today's news story about the man's widows suing each other? http://www.philly.com/dailynews/local/20080313_One_of_mans_two_widows_sues_the_other_over_libel__terror_claims.html Can anyone explain how any of that article has anything to do with Sleep Apnea or CPAP????? It took me abou...

Quattro
I would highly recommend trying the ResMed Quattro. It is really a very comfortable and well-made mask. I haven't tried the Ultra Mirage yet, but I'd like to. It is considered to be ResMed's "third generation" full-face mask, while the Quattro is the "fourth-generation" mask (hence the name). A bunc...

Too cold!
I wouldn't recommend using the water until it has come to room temperature. I always have a cold nose for the first few minutes on my BiPAP, and I'm keeping mine close to the machine. I would think it would be much colder if you used refrigerated water, plus it would take your humidifier longer to h...

DeVilbiss
Hi Capri, I'm pretty sure that the DeVilbiss RPM AutoAdjust collects data (I read that from someone here and now I can't find it) but it looks like Cpap.com is out of stock. https://www.cpap.com/cpap-machine/devilbiss-rpm-auto-adjust-9054d.html Considering that DeVilbiss just put out the IntelliPAP,...

Respironics Premium Chinstrap
Babs, I am using the Respironics Premium Chinstrap ( https://www.cpap.com/productpage/premium-chinstrap-mouthleak.html ) it it works really well for me. I tried the Topaz and I really like the way it is designed, but I couldn't wear it for more than a few minutes at a time because it made me sweat s...

"Not necessarily cause for alarm"
Doesn't everything we eat have bacteria all over it?
I think that the researcher herself said it best at the end of the video, "Not necessarily cause for alarm." I've been putting lemons in my water for my whole life and I'm still here.

Try a Respironics!
I bought a Topaz chinstrap, and I think that the design is great. Unfortunately, I cannot wear the thing for more than 30 seconds because it really doesn't breathe at all. I switched to the Respironics Premium chinstrap, and it is very comfy, and doesn't (usually) come off during the night. Good luc...
