Re: My Success With CPAP...I'm Apnea Free!!

Just a quick update.... A few days after going for my sleep study, I received a call from the sleep center saying they lost all of the O2 and cardio data in the computer. So last Wednesday I was back at the sleep center again to do what I had done 8 times before. I have an appointment with the docto...

Re: My Success With CPAP...I'm Apnea Free!!

Thanks for all the kind words. Kyralynx is correct in that it will not always correct the problem. That is exactly why I went for the split study last night. I have been working closely with my doctor since my first appointment. If there were any significant changes in my weight or how I felt, I wen...

My Success With CPAP...I'm Apnea Free!!

Hello all, It has been well over a year since I last visited this board. I used to read it and post to it rather regularly. I began my CPAP therapy on the day prior to New Years Eve (December 30, 2006). I have endured 7 sleep studies in total including 5 Titration, 1 nap, and 1 MWT. As my name impli...

If your new doctor doesn't work out, you may want to contact Dr. Krakow, it may pay to spend a few days in New Mexico. In my honest opinion, he maybe one of the few sleep specialists who truly understands about every aspect of the science of sleep. Just something to keep in mind. http://www.sleeptre...

Love my new M series Auto w/ A-flex and I would agree that the F&P HC-150 is the way to go. The integrated humidifier for the Respironics is horrible unless you plan on traveling alot with your machine. The resvour is way too small and it takes forever to heat up. I have both the M series PLUS w/int...

just an update...If anybody cares? I arrived home tonight, and to my surprise, was a box filled with my new goodies. I have Cigna, and knew that it was going to be a fight to get what I wanted, but through perseverance, and calling Apria to make sure they were going to send what I wanted, the delive...

molecular weights of pure gasses CO = (12+16) = 28, about neutral O2 = (16+16) = 32, slightly heavy N2 = (14+14 ) = 28, about neutral For mixed gasses just take a proportionate average: Air is 80% N2 + 20% O2 . air = 0.8(28 ) + 0.2(32) = 29 (exactly neutral, by definition) carbon monoxide and air ha...

Did it feel the same way when you woke up? The pressure will be whatever you/doctor/dme set it at. A biPAp will give relief during exhale. A CPAP can do that also, but only to an extent if you get a machine with C/A-flex (Respironics RemStar M series) {EDIT} Or an S8 Elite that has EPR, which is bas...

I have the sleepPap pillow. I love it. I normally have had trouble getting used to a new pillow, and actually tried several store bought pillows before I got this one. I slept the first night with this pillow, and will not sleep with anything else.

You Guys are making me nervous, I have CIGNA,,,However, because I found CPAPTALK.Com before my titration test, I think I made some very important decisions prior to even beginning the ball rolling. First, I purchased my original machine out of pocket, and got yelled at by many users for having a non...

Do you wake up with a dry mouth? The reason I ask is that generally with individuals first starting xPAP therapy using a nasal interface will mouth breathing without realizing it, and from what I have seen in reading posts from others on this site, is probably the single greatest cause to reduced ef...

I'm hoping that with my case, that my OSA has been a contributing factor to my weight. I eat 3 meals a day, but not neccessarily in excess. I'll be the first to admit, that my portion sizes are a little bigger that they should be sometimes, however I don't get rediculous. I don't eat sweets, or junk...

Personally I think that every patient at their first sleep sstudy should get 1 copy of each. "Sound Sleep, Sound Mind" by Dr. Barry Krakow, and "This Book Blows" by Mike Moran, both members of this forum. I would also like to take this oportunity to thank everybody for the positive words...Thanks!!
