Re: OT: When did Medicare stop covering glucose test strips?

Related matter. I use a Freestyle Libre 2 CGM. For those who don't know about them, they work for 14 days, at which point they expire (die) and have to be replaced. One prescription is for quantity two sensors. Two times 14 days is 28. The pharmacy says that "my insurance" will not _accept_ a refill...

cf: > They informed me that Medicare does not cover test strips now Recently I ordered test strips. My pharmacy said that it was denied by "my insurance" because I have a CGM. I have original Medicare (not an Advantage plan). janknitz: > your denial may be for one of the following reasons: -It was c...

Medicare

I will start Medicare shortly, switching from my employer's insurance plan. I understand my current medical insurance really well. Medicare seems like a black hole to me. So many unknowns. I'll have Original Medicare (Parts A and B), a Part D drug plan, and Medigap (plan F). Are supplies (mask, hose...

Re: Noisy AirSense 10 machine

j73: > I hear the air flowing on inhale. Are you saying that you are hearing air/mask sounds or machine sounds? One night I was in bed, all hooked up, machine on. Airsense 10, FFM. My wife walked up next to the bed and asked me if the machine was on because she couldn't hear it. I can't either. That...

Re: ResMed Air* 10 Accessories

Thank you for your replies. I ordered a bunch of stuff from cpap.com, including the generic (PR) elbow ($3). Ordered the ResMed 37310 air outlet. Turns out this is a replacement part that connects to the inside of the machine, where the air comes out of the blower. The other end goes to the outside ...

cpap.com Big Sale

cpap.com has their holiday sale going. I got a bunch of things for my new ResMed. Saved around 30%. The usual deal is free shipping for orders over $99. Current deal is free shipping on all orders. I just hate to pay shipping when all I'm ordering is filters. They could probably be shipped using one...

ResMed Air* 10 Accessories

1) Can a hose cover be put on the ClimateLineAir heated hose? The problem is that without one the hose is so slick that it slides around on the blanket instead of staying where I put it. The machine is on the floor. That means the hose will hang over the edge of the mattress next to my head and pull...

Re: What happens if I don't clean my humidifier water chamber?

That bizarre post disqualifies you from attempting to help anyone.

It violates device manufacturer guidelines.
That's an absolute fact.

And in addition proves ChicagoGranny right.
You just eliminated any doubt.

Re: What happens if I don't clean my humidifier water chamber?

> I opened the water chamber, and I was shocked to find green slime coating the interior of the water chamber. It happens when the conditions are right. Or wrong, in this case. Use distilled water. It's so cheap. Empty it out every day so the humidifier can dry out. Did I mention that it's so cheap?...

Re: software to read respironics series M smartcard?

Be sure to get the free EncoreBasic version.
It works on Win 7.
I made the mistake of buying the higher version.
It's not any more useful than EncoreBasic.

And if the room is cold, put a hose cover on the hose so that the air is still warm when it reaches the mask.

Re: New Machine - not working for me

I'd gues that it's a setting. e.g., min, max, pressure support, humidity, etc. > they checked and both machines output the same pressure. "both output the same pressure" can have different meanings. Details matter. > They can not find anything wrong. Unfortunately that's often the case. Even more so...

That shouldn't be a problem.
cpap.com sells them for a very reasonable price.
It's always good to have a backup anyway -- humidifier, mask, hose.
You can clean one while you use the other one.

That would be my guess.

Perhaps turn up the humidifier by 1.

Re: Why have prescription maximums (at least initially)?

> I am hitting the maximum each night - not much, but every night.

Raise it by 1. Watch it for a week. Read the card.
See how the avg AHI for the week compares with before the change.
See how often you reach the max.

Iterate if necessary.
