Re: OT:How many use The chat room and how can one person chat?

I often chat with myself. Occasionally I argue with myself. On bad days I lose the arguments .

Re: Runny nose

I second using the ultrafine filters in your machine. I switched to the PR a few weeks ago and was horribly congested the first morning after I tried it without the fine filter. Got some and installed them and it helped loads. I would also suggest lowering your humidity setting. 3 leaves me congeste...

Re: For what it's worth

Well as requested I submitted user profile. As I have mentioned in the past I have been diagnosed with "severe" apnea. Fortunately or unfortunately however you look at it I do not display the normal daily affects one would see with severe apnea. I do not fall asleep at meetings or while driving to a...

Re: Don't blame RT/DME

Rjjayrt, thanks for posting and joining. Please understand that there are some here who have burned by their DME's so if they see a post by someone who works for one its like waving a red flag in front of a bull. Hopefully they will remember that they are guests of a hosted forum and remain courteou...

Re: New User Confused

Willy, Try pressing and holding the right and down buttons on the top of your machine for a few seconds. This should allow you access to the Clinician's Menu, which will let you change the settings for your machine, including the EPR setting. Hopefully that will make you a bit more comfortable and e...

Re: Help me please, new user, new to message board

TD, Den and Oz are right about adjusting or turning off EPR. After that I would track my data for a week and see where you are. Too many changes too fast can make it hard to figure out what is working and what is causing new problems. I would also start a sleep diary and record your nightly numbers ...

Re: Resmed Malibu vs S8 Escape

The new Escape II has exhalation relief (EPR) and the new Easybreathe. The older Escape has neither. The Malibu is a discontinued auto-bilevel. You can research both machines on our host's website, cpap.com. You could probably change the settings on the Malibu by accessing the Clinician's menu. I re...

Re: sleep apnea

Dear Cntrygrl, It sounds you have been/are being treated badly, and I am very sorry to hear that this is happening to you. It sounds to me like a nasal pillows type mask that does not rest or apply pressure to the face would work best for you. Perhaps something like the Swift LT which many on the fo...

Re: Help me please, new user, new to message board

TD, Right now, making sure that leaks are under control is very important. If you have the correct mask dialed into your machine, the Elite will subtract what it is supposed to leak (all masks leak a certain amount to flush out the CO2 you exhale) at your set pressure and give you the amount above t...
