Anyone need FREE Comfort Lite 2 stuff?

I'm house cleaning, have moved on to a Resmed Swift FX mask, and have several unused "nasal pillows" (S, M, and L), "nasal cushions" (S, M, and L), and "direct seal (#5)" nose pieces for my old Comfort Lite 2. I also have the headsets that have parts on them that might come in handy for a die-hard C...

Re: Cheap heated hose

I get notified when this thread is bumped so I thought I'd check in. It's been a while. I'm happy to say my Repti Heated Cable hose solution is still going strong with few problems since February 2008. I had one cable fail without incident due to my bending the end of it repeatedly where it fit into...

Re: Cheap heated hose

I've been using a Repti Heated Cable inside a hose cover since February of 2008, and inside the plastic CPAP hose since November 2010. Inside the hose reduces condensation more effectively at lower wattage and is more responsive to nighttime changes and at start-up. One cable failed due to repeated ...

Re: My DME Horror Story

The DME's behavior is reprehensible, but not uncommon. Mine tried similar, but less blatantly deceptive tactics. It was tiring and frustrating to get what I wanted, but I gutted it out, but only after finding a second office of the same company with more helpful, less aggressive, and more honest peo...

Re: ASV: PTB drops at beginning of sleep

I'm no expert, but it looks like you are both snoring and experiencing hypopneas during that period (I'll bet you saw that ;o) so I'd guess, if it were me, but of course it's not, that you might be a bit stopped up (like me sometimes) when you awaken at night. Maybe some sinus tissue swelling from b...

Re: Announcing Onkor: free, open alternative to Encore Pro/Viewer

... Next feasible machine is PR BiPAP, as the file formats are similar. I've read this entire post with great interest, set up an account, but couldn't get it to work without a graphing error and weird looking hash data. Since I have a PR BiPAP, I think this explains why it's not working for me. I ...

Re: Not working for me :(

If you can afford the machine, I'd keep using it if it solved your O2 issues. There are so many problems that can arise from that. My sleep doctor has sent me a list of them twice now when I didn't show up for appointments and it scared me into compliance. ;o) I've been PAP'ing for over 3 years. I'm...

Re: ASV users - which machine?

I have free access to the article: http://www.4shared.com/document/z-Y-6PZu/asv.html -A Thanks for that. It is an interesting read. Here's a brief summary as I see it: The study was not truly randomized. Both machines were considered by study reviewers to be equally effective at treating obstructiv...

Respironics PR System One REMstar BiPAP Auto SV Advanced

Summary Version: I've been prescribed ASV therapy. Respironics brand will likely be offered. The newer System One ASV seems to be an evolution of their two earlier ASV machines, and thus superior in that it appears to sport a “super set” of their functions (plus improved humidifier, SD memory card,...

Re: Cheap heated hose

Bought the 15 watt heater cable-works great but too warm. need to add a stat to control temperature. looking at the one from the reptile store.about 30 + shipping. I'd skip the one from the reptile store (Repti-Temp Reostat #RT-10) as it has a feature that limits the lowest setting to about 13 watt...

Re: Cheap heated hose

Hi, before I buy anything else for my CPAP set up I just wanted to see if anyone knows the answer the question that was posted before - do the Repti Heat cable or the Aussie heated hose prevent rainout just in the hose or do they also work for rainout in a nasal mask as well? (I didn't realize that...

Re: Cheap heated hose

Marvellous discussion! Many thanks for the technical information. My only question would be to wonder about the intended goals of "in-the-hose" vs. "outside-the-hose" placement. Velbor My goal would be to see, empirically, if I could eliminate rain-out in my mask (CL2) at a lower wattage with, hope...

Re: Cheap heated hose

BTW, I dissected one of the cables to see if the length can be reduced. The short answer is no. I'm very impressed with the cables' construction and design and think that any modifications would result in safety compromises. Based solely upon observation, the exterior appears to be silicone, but I ...

Re: Cheap heated hose

Interesting thread and idea! What health benefits have you experienced using a heated hose? I've turned back my humidifier settings; perhaps I'm missing out on a real benefit. Thanks all for your contributions here. Regards, DaveL Toronto I sleep better because I'm not awakened by water going into ...
