Re: PR System One REMstar Auto CPAP with A-Flex ?
You're a good poster child for not stopping CPAP without a test to confirm that sleep apnea is resolved by weight loss. And perhaps you would not have regained the weight if you hadn't stopped treatment? I firmly believe that OSA drives the hormones that cause obesity much more than obesity causes ...

Re: PR System One REMstar Auto CPAP with A-Flex ?
The trick to getting into the clinical setup menu is the same for both the 50 series (which is what it sounds like you have) and the 60 series with or without the heated hose. http://www.apneaboard.com/pr-system-one-philips-respironics-setup-cpap-clinician-menu-instructions If it is a M series or o...

PR System One REMstar Auto CPAP with A-Flex ?
Can anyone tell me how to change the pressure settings on this type of APAP? I guess I'm asking for the therapy setup menu. This is the older PR system one that is not a series 60 and does not have bluetooth. It is an auto REMstar with A-Flex (whatever that is). My Story: I have been away from this ...

HELP! F &P ICON info needed HELP!
I am on vacation and don't have my manuals with me (F&P ICON). My settings somehow were changed during travel and I can't remember how to get into the clinician menu to re-set them. Can anyone tell me how to get into the Clinician Menu????? This will teach me to leave that info behind, this is makin...

Re: OSA plus seasonal allergies
Okay then, I agree that I'm probably still experiencing apnea during the "off" periods. That isn't the point ... for me. I believe my quality of life is better when I don't have to use the machine to get an adequate nights sleep. Not being tied to CPAP use is the normal state in case you have forgot...

OSA plus seasonal allergies
Here is a suggestion if you have both OSA and seasonal allergies. Use a recording APAP and check your apnea incident rate at different times during the year. You may find your need for the APAP/CPAP will vary with the season even if you don't otherwise notice an allergic reaction. That is my situati...

Re: borderline apnea?
It's rare that weight loss completely cures OSA. Even significant weight loss generally results in the ability to lower your pressure. It's more likely you still need that CPAP machine and should either retitrate yourself using an APAP or preferably see your doctor for a sleep study referral. Oh, t...

Re: Resmed Mirage Quattro causing sore nose bridge
There are only two reasons why a Quattro (or UMFF) would cause "damage" to one's face......too tight and/or wrong size. Neither should happen. Those masks should "float" on the user's face. Den I agree the Quattro should "float" on the face. If mine doesn't, I get a sore on my nose bridge. But I kn...

borderline apnea?
I have been OSA free for 7 months. Seven months without using my CPAP machine. That was made possible by losing 70 lbs (I ate sparingly and worked out everyday). I feel great and I lost mass from my airway (more open now) along with the rest of my body so no OSA I thought. But lately I have been wak...

Re: First Night With FFM
The Quattro has a lot of possible adjustments. Getting just the right mix for your face can take a bit of trial and error but once it's set properly, it should be 99% leak free IMHO. The trap I fell into was getting the straps too tight. That did seal the leaks but gave me a sore nose bridge. The ma...

Re: JUST HOW OVERWEIGHT ARE YOU?
How do you know how much overweight you really are? The only way I know of is by comparison to the AMA height/weight/age charts (old) and more recently by the Body Mass Index (BMI) charts. According to this website ://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/ I am well into obesity and need to lose 95 lbs just to b...

Re: Has anyone started an exercise program after starting CPAP
Most people have many stress issues in their lives with OSA being only one of them. It's an important factor to be sure because without proper sleep you're not going to be solving any problems period. When I started getting a good nights sleep I did feel better and I picked up the exercise program I...

Re: Have you tried these HOSE COVERS?
I have been using Snugglehose covers for more than a year now and would not use a hose without a cover of some sort. The fleece covering makes a world of difference in the overall feel of the hose against my body. My usual hose tho is ten feet long and only Snugglehose makes a cover that length (tha...
