Re: Someone invent this...

Perhaps one of you engineers/computer programmers could invent a way for me to see my son's data on my computer in real time. This would really help me troubleshoot leaks if I could see them when they are happening. Thanks. SU I am pretty sure the Resmed S9 has a wireless module that delivers data ...

Re: Someone invent this...

SU, the last ASV that I got had a bunch of things with it that obviously came from a sleep center, or something. One of the things was a cabled card that went in where the smart card goes, and connects to a computer. I imagine it would go with any of the older Respironics machines that take a smart...

Re: Is it "snore" or mask cushion vibrations?

Avi Some thoughts on this - the modern cpaps as best I understand use airflow disturbances detected with pressure transducers to determine snore. In the early days they actually used more conventional microphones but there is quite a difference between a sound detecting device & a pressure detecting...

Re: Resmed expensive in Australia

Warrain Useful info & I believe it works quite well. I did some further checking on Aust vs US prices & it seems to vary a lot depending on the model machine and as ozzie_dollar says, some cpaps are close to twice the price but here in Oz one can negotiate with some Resmed resellers but you have to ...

Re: 'inhale' time / other confusion on resmed vpap auto 25

Just offering a word of caution. It can be tricky playing without those settings with expert guidance such as from your R/T. Altering those timings adversely can impact your respiration rate & tidal volumes - these when set wrong can in turn impact your blood CO2 levels. The best way to play with th...

Re: Resmed expensive in Australia

Ozze_dollar Just checked cpap.com price for a Respironics (Phillips) System One ASV & it is $5,500 ! (they don't list the S9 Adapt) https://www.cpap.com/productpage/PR-System-One-REMstar-BiPAP-Auto-SV-Advanced.html I really don't believe the S9 ASV will be around $2,000 or even $2,500. Where did you...

Re: Resmed expensive in Australia

Isn't Resmed an Australian company? Yes the whole thing is a disgrace. The manufacturing plant is only a few Kms away and they have the nerve to charge such prices. Get real What is the US market vs the Aust market !!! You clearly have *never* had to run an international business -! - while you are...

Re: Resmed expensive in Australia

I would say shoot their CEO's, that's the thing to do when you are being robbed, but you have already let them have all your guns. (A wise move for any GOV that wants to control it's population) U.S. look out, You are becoming dumb enough to be taken too. (Remember your last election) Due to their ...

Re: Pressure pulse (what does it mean?)

Wow, lots of tech discussion here. That's great, I would love to take my machine apart, but I think I'll want until its out of warranty and it needs some work. I do lots of tinkering on mechanical and electronic devices. It's funny, my son (17) picked up this same trait but he didnt inherit the abi...

Re: Pressure pulse (what does it mean?)

The 'airvalves' used in Respironics machines are certainly used in the older Bipap models. To be honest, while I know they are in the Bipaps in the 'tank' case, I have no idea if they are used in the 'M' & Series or System One Bipap models. These machines could use them but could also use a variabl...

Re: Pressure pulse (what does it mean?)

I have been informed recently there are no such thing as 'pressure pulses'. I think the air valves are capable of ramping up and down quite quickly so that it could be experienced as a 'pulse' but the air valves are totally under looped servo control at every flow/pressure. Bill The 'airvalves' use...

Re: Anyone else hitting 30 cmH2O?

Tks Dave & good luck to you too for when you go 'back inside'
One point I'd like to remind you is, go set all three of your machines to the same settings - the ones you have in your profile.

Cheers DSM
