Need software source for REMstar Auto M Series
Hi fellow CPAPers, I had software for my machine, but lost it. I feel my CPAP effectiveness has gone wayyy down. I have gained weight and am generally feeling cruddy. I need to secure the software so that I can monitor therapy and get back on track. The LED display on the machine is not much help, a...

Re: when your nose is clogged do you use your machine
My suggestion would be a full face mask. It will allow you to breathe through your mouth and still get treatment. You can also try a nasal rinse like neilmed to see if you can clear your nose out. Hope you feel better soon.

Re: Womens hormone cycles and OSA
Soo, based upon what split city is saying I'm wondering if HRT would improve OSA? I don't mean to the point of not needing CPAP, but just an overall improvement in number of apneas even while treated? I've been sitting on the fence about adding Bioidentical estrogen for quite a long time. This may j...

Re: Do you have to actually be seen not breathing to have apnea?
From the symptoms you are describing, it sounds like a sleep study would be prudent. At the very least, you could ask the Dr. to prescribe an overnight pulse ox to measure your o2 sats during the night. Have you discussed these concerns with your doctor? If not, that would be my first step.

Re: Womens hormone cycles and OSA
All that I've read on the subject seems to suggest a sharp increase in OSA in postmenopausal women. So, there does appear to be a hormonal connection. In my case, I was diagnosed with OSA later in the same year that I had both ovaries removed(surgical menopause). It would be interesting to see studi...

Re: Hypothyroidism and Sleep Apnea
I'm not really sure if one causes the other. I did have Hashi for many years before the OSA diagnosis. However, I am sure that one affects the other in a negative way when they coexist. Thus, it would be prudent to receive optimal treatment for both to feel your best (cpap and thryoid hormone replac...

Hypothyroidism and Sleep Apnea
I was researching about hypothyroidism (Hashimoto's Disease) and came across this article. Thought I'd pass it along for anyone interested. I have Hashimoto's as well as OSA among other health conditions. All the dots are starting to connect. Now if the doctors could just connect them too! ---------...

If you are just starting treatment you have a sleep deficit to pay back. You need to get as many hours of sleep as possible to pay that down. Once you do, and that varies from individual to individual, you'll start feeling much better. It all depends on how long you had undiagnosed sleep apnea and y...

Congrats on the positive changes. I know it can get overwhelming though. I've done much of the same. However, even after losing 60 lbs I still give myself permission to have a "treat" on occasion. The key is not too often and not too much a one time. Have you thought about setting up a reward system...
