[quote="ColoradoDreamer"]A long extension cord is necessary. Most hotels use all the outlets near/behind the bed for the lights, alarm clock, etc. When I travel by plane, I put one or two drinking bottles of distilled water in my checked luggage (in a sealed plastic bag) so I have enough water to ge...

David Crowder Band Are we left here on our own? Can you feel when your last breath is gone? Night is waiting heavy now Be quiet and wait for a voice that will say Come awake From sleep, arise You were dead You’ve come alive Wake up wake up Open your eyes Climb from your grave Into the light Bring u...

My father is also my landlord. After the blackout of 2003, he decided to have an emergency generator installed. The genny taps into our natural gas line and starts within ten seconds of the power going out. It's quite noisy, so I know that would wake me up long enough to turn the CPAP back on.

Oh, BB, I am so sorry to hear about your friend. I know what this must be like for you, as I've lost far too many loved ones - including an uncle to OSA. Joe was 47 when he died of dilated cardiomyopathy, which the coroner said (and my pulmonologist concurred) may have been caused by more than eight...

Potential sticky situation - please help!

This February, I'll be going on my third annual Valentine's cruise for Christian singles. Last year I roomed with a total stranger, but CPAP was not an issue then. This year I roomed with two other women, one of whom I became friends with last year (in fact, Trish was one of the people that tipped m...

Rash from CPAP mask?

I'm currently using an Adam Circuit mask with headgear. The way the mask is constructed, the hose goes over my forehead (under the headgear) and over the back of my head. I've had a rash where the headgear holds the hose against my forehead, and it's kind of ugly - thankfully my bangs partially hide...

The tide is turning for me! The last couple of nights I haven't even been hungry at dinner time. Unfortunately, my cat is now very disappointed, as he waits for his table scraps.

Normal to be angry when newly diagnosed?

I was diagnosed less than a month ago. The first couple of weeks weren't too bad emotionally - but now I'm furious . I have other medical problems to begin with, and this just feels like the straw that broke the camel's back. I've even given up the idea of dating. What do I have to offer someone - a...

"Percolating" CPAP?

I have a Respironics M Series CPAP with a humidifier, and an Adam Circuit nasal pillow mask. A couple of nights ago, and twice last night, I woke to hear a "percolating" sound - kind of like my late stepfather's plug in coffee pot. (The coffee pot was old, but then again, so was he. ) I unplugged th...

[quote="SleepingBeauty"]I keep my machine inside a cat carrier (I think it was Brenda's suggestion) and that keeps them off the buttons. I purchased a hose cover and that made them lose interest in the hose, but they did still play with the air that exhausts out. BUT, when I started the Pur-Sleep tw...
