CPAP power usage and cost to operate
Hi all, Does anyone here have an idea of how much power a CPAP machine uses, and/or how much it costs per month to operate it? For almost the past 4 years, I lived in an apartment where the electricity was included in my rent. Now I have purchased a home and am responsible for the power bill myself....

Re: DME Billing Issues
Thanks for the info--I will give my insurance company a call. It's all very confusing.

Re: DME Billing Issues
Here's the latest development. The person I've been emailing at Nationwide about this issue just sent me a "financial hardship waiver." Here's what she had to say about it: I am attaching a financial hardship waiver which upon approval will waive any co-insurance you may have. I hope this will help ...

Re: DME Billing Issues
Just curious, what kind CPAP supplies do you need every 3 months? The shipments have included a new mask, with replacements for the part that actually comes in contact with your face (can't remember what it's called), new filters. I don't know if I actually need these every three months, especially...

Re: DME Billing Issues
Thanks for the help. I'm planning on cancelling the automatic delivery, as it is not "convenient" at all and is just causing me alot of stress right now. It seems like I have had nothing but billing problems with Nationwide. I got my machine and started treatment back in July of 2007, but months lat...

DME Billing Issues
I get my CPAP supplies from Nationwide Medical. The supplies are delivered every three months. I would get an invoice shortly after the supplies were delivered. It made sense: supplies every three months, a bill every three months. Recently, I started getting bills every month. I called and asked wh...

Re: I don't want WLS - Help
I'm riding my bike 1/2 hour every morning and am mostly eating a mostly plant based diet with occasional fish and turkey. I'm avoiding sugar and gluten and watching carbs. I'm trying to drink at least 6 cups of water daily. Any other suggestions? It sounds like you are doing everything right. Somet...

I tried taking Provigil for the first time today. I took half of a 200 mg tablet this morning when I woke up. Within 1 hour, I was so nauseous that I couldn't even stand up. I've spent most of the morning just sitting at my desk because if I move too quickly I'm afraid I will throw up. This can't be...

Thanks for all the replies, they are helpful. 2 days later, I think most of the goop is finally out of my hair. Next time, I guess I will have to take my mattress topper (it is one of those memory foam things) and my own sheets (high thread count) with me. I complained about the noise from the stree...

Thanks Jen. The technician told me that some people have to take ambien so they can sleep in the lab. If I have to go back and do it again, I think I will need a sleeping pill. It was horrible. The bed felt like I was sleeping on the floor, the sheets were like sandpaper, I was in a room with a wind...

Had another sleep study last night
So back in January, I decided to find a different sleep clinic, since the one I originally went to last summer sent me on my way without any follow-up as soon as I had my machine. This had not been a good situation because I'm still almost as tired as before I started CPAP. At my first visit with th...

An update on amandalee
Hi all, Just a little update on my situation for anyone who is interested. I'm still tired and feel like crap. I went to a naturopathic doctor last week, and got some blood tests: CBC, CMP, TSH, Free T3, Free T4, lipid panel, iron, zinc & ferritin. In the meantime, I'm taking a vit B5 supplement and...

There are no dependency problems with fluticasone propionate. You are thinking about oxymetazoline (Afrin) which can cause bad rebound effect if used more than three or four days in a row. Good to know, thanks! I'm feeling hopeful about this new doctor. Maybe it was because I was probably the first...
