Re: cm range on autoset
4 to 20 cm, is the failure rate dumb doctors and DME's use instead of learning how to treat Sleep Apnea, using that setting promotes treatment failure, due to the machine can't respond to your needs fast enough. I set mine 1 cm higher than is needed to keep my airway open and 2 cm under, by using th...

cm range on autoset
This has been covered, but I had no success using the search feature. I picked up my New AirSense today. The cm range was 4 to 20. I set my S9 auto with a range of 3 below and 3 above the titrated level. Does the range matter? What is your preferred range around you level? I've ordered the clinician...

Re: SD card not recording with write protection off
All data is saved in case it's needed and a new card is on the way. Thanks for the input.

Re: SD card not recording with write protection off
The data on this machine hasn't been checked for years because it was purchased through an individual without a prescription. Last week I had a sleep study funded by our Medicare socialized program. (Last time I'll ever do that!). I had a lot of leak with my ancient nasal pillows mask and the tech i...

Re: SD card not recording with write protection off
Pugsy, thank you for the reply. I'm using a Resmed S9. I don't care if the data is erased. I just need the card to record. I need info to go into battle with the doctor over prescribed mask. Surely, the problem is due to leaving the card in the machine in a locked position for one night.

SD card not recording with write protection off
Night before last, I forgot to switch the SD card into unlock position, so, of course, there was no data yesterday morning. Last night, with the card in unlock position, the machine did not come on and there was a message on the screen asking me if I wanted to delete all the previous data. I was sle...

Re: OT:Defective frog--Breast cancer---CURED!
CF, tonight was the first time I saw your story. (Most of my computer time is spent studying diet for type 2 diabetes.) I'm so sorry you had to go through this, but your sense of humor through it all really gained my admiration. I had breast cancer two years ago and endometrial cancer seven years ag...

Re: What did people do before 1980 ?
I never heard of sleep apnea until 1975 when my dad had a stroke and a heart attack. He lived for about a week during which time the nurses pointed out that he had apnea and we watched him struggle to breathe. So, when I was diagnosed, I didn't hesitate to embrace the treatment!

Re: Sleeping Supplements
Be aware that there is strong evidence that "Long Term" use of some common over-the-counter sleep aids like Benadryl and PM versions of Advil, Tylenol, and other PM versions of NSAIDS have been linked to early on-set dementia and Alzheimer's http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/288546.php http:...

Re: What a difference....
What a pleasant post.
It took me about 3 years to find the mask of my dreams, but in the meantime, I began to feel better after 2 nights even though the CPAP awakened me a few times. No one is going to take my little machine away from me.

Re: Swift LT issues
I've been using the Swift for about two years with no problems until the headgear begins to be too lose. A soft pillow bothers me because it can come around the indention made by my head and get in the way of the exhaust. Presently, my small, very firm pillow is just right for the Swift. People so v...

Re: My husband thinks there is no such thing
It's difficult to stress the improvement in the quality of my life once I began CPAP therapy. The sleep doc sent home a recording oximeter to use as part of the diagnosis before I could even have a sleep study done. My oxygen was level was hanging around in the low 70's and that's so dangerous. At t...

Re: Hi again from JediMark / SleepyHead
Mark, I hope you are feeling up to par soon. The Sleepyhead on my comp hasn't gone off the tracks and I use it to print reports for my doctor who is glad to get them. Take care of yourself and let us hear from you again.
