What to do about the Respironics M series data problem

I am just in a "thinking mode" about this but it is an interesting thought.

Fact: It is a problem, it is not the software, card reader, or smart card but a flaw in the data collection module inside the FDA approved medical device.

Appears to be true. I can understand not being able to edit the comment info since it is designed to be in a clinic or doctors office and you do not want someone changing information. However, the same might be true on copying the data - you might not want someone taking info to send to lawyer, medi...

What was the sample size of the study? Well, I am happy to report that I have been able to stop several medications - blood pressure, cholesterol (statin's sux), and antidepressants since the CPAP works so well. I never told my doctor so I still get 6x100mg viagra a month - chopped up in quarters means I have a great sex life with a libi...

Re: smartcard dump

Hi There, I would really appreciate if a few people would run the resperonics SmartCardUtility found in the utillities subdirector of the EP install. The default settings will dump a small file to the c:\ directory called EncoreSmartCardData.bin. Would someone mind running this dump utility on ther...

Re: Exhaust noise

Hi everyone: Have switched to a Respironics Comort Gel Nasal mask for about a month. Love the mask, very comfortable, not much leaking. The only thing that is driving me slightly batty is the noise from the exhaust port. Any suggestions on how to cut down on this? I have the same mask, different ma...

As you can see, the data is similar to the HTML tags when you post - a begin and end tag for the type <tag> data </tag> - <SleepHistogram> <ObstructiveApnea>1</ObstructiveApnea> <Pressure>11</Pressure> <NRAH>0</NRAH> <SecondsAtPressure>25830</SecondsAtPressure> <Hypopnea>0</Hypopnea> <VariableBreath...

Too funny, that is the third time I have been in Wiki. Not the independant conformation that I wanted to see!!!!! I think with several people now checking, we may have an answer and solution but not the root cause. Looking at the XML dump of the data, it looks like (as I suspected) that the data is ...

I would not trust them. Easier and cleaner to export your "patient" data, uninstall v1.6, install v1.8, import the file.

There were database format changes between 1.6 and 1.8 I think, it should find the old version and convert but then they csn't write a clean interface to start with...

Someone may have already addressed this, but if so, I missed it. For those of us with the M-series paps, is there still missing data with the 1.8 version? I am not so convinced that the "missing data" is from the software. I never have missing data or "no data found" if I leave the card in the mach...

Yeah, if I had two things to recommend on the pro M it would be a "dimmer" and another light to tell you when the data was finished downloading to the card.

Well, make that three. Take the darn c-flex button off the outside, I constantly press that by accident.

Re: Ozone Machine??? Anyone had experience with one?

I read that oxone machines and therapy help with oxygen deprivation during sleep. Apparently this is related to Low Body Temperature. I was wondering of any of you hoseheads have run across anything about this in your research for sleep apnea Smog is not healthy if your talking about ozone machines...
