Re: "Learning" while you sleep.

Wow Jim, interesting story! Glad you didn't break your ribs on the lever, still ouch! Those rats might make US big city rats jealous for sure. I've only heard tales and have never seen one. I think subliminal tapes only work for some people, kind of like hypnosis doesn't work for everybody. Some can...

Re: "Learning" while you sleep.

My brother learned to hold his rifle and sleep in the military. He never dropped it once. There are two tricks required to be able to do this. 1) Fall asleep holding the rifle in such a position that when the muscles in your hand relax, the rifle does not fall to the floor. 2)The rifle should be he...

Re: "Learning" while you sleep.

It would seem from our examples that we can change our behaviors while sleeping.

Now if I could just learn how to hold my throat open and achieve REM

"Learning" while you sleep.

I've noticed over the years on this forum people have said it is possible or impossible to learn certain behaviors while you sleep. Here are examples where I believe learning while sleeping occurs: - I learned to not sleep on my back, ever. - I learned to hold my tongue on the roof of my mouth and t...

Re: Poll Re: Apnea and Your Weight

So true, bodybuilders with highly over developed bodies with crushing amounts of body muscle and huge necks can have OSA issues. Or be just like the rest of the public with undiagnosed or untreated apnea. Look at Mike Jenkins. We'll never know, but both probably contributed to his death. I personall...

Re: Any Tips For Using Nasal Pillows?

I found that a direct seal nasal mask worked better than pillows for me (my nares are small).

So I agree finding the mask that works for you is key, versus thinking a certain mask should have a pillow size that works.

Re: Poll Re: Apnea and Your Weight

Warning - soap box coming out . . . So using weight may be a good general guideline for a mainstream medical application, but it is the worst possible way to judge if one is fat or not. For example, a person can stay the same weight from their twenties to eighties and be twice as fat when 80 as the ...

Thank you so much for the information. Sounds like it's time for us to have a blood test. I'll let him know about keeping legs cool.
Again, thank you!

Re: Happy Birthday to SewTired

So sorry you need 8 hours and don't get it! That can be truly miserable. And RLS is no picnic. I just want to wrap you in a sleep blanket. My husband moves his legs all night long sometimes keeping me awake. So I've started looking into it. The information I've read indicate iron levels are thought ...

Good to see you in this neck of the woods again! Thanks! Good to see you too! And now that I got cpaptalk to work on my smartphone and email I shouldn't go too far from this neck of the woods again I still feel woefully inadequate in helping people solve technical dilemmas, I can contribute element...

Re: about ready to quit

Thanks for the responses. I was looking at some online sellers for masks. I was told I needed a prescription. I'm leaving a message with my doctor to get copies. I have used a neti pot in the past so I'll give that a try. I called before the 30 day return window was up and was told to "keep trying....

Re: Side Sleeper Pillows

Haha, yes I did mean bed of pillows not hulls; not that there aren't a few hulls here and there when I change pillow cases. The first time I viewed escapee hulls without my contacts in, I screeched bringing the hubby running. I thought it was bugs.
