R&R, Great picture. I'm originally from Houston, now living in NC. I have that same postcard tacked up to my cubicle wall at work(bought it at the Ya'lls Texas Store on vacation one year). I've had quite a bit comments from co-workers. And just for the record, I would be interested in a get together...

I have problems with being congested at night as well, and have basically just dealt with it. As long as one nasal passage was open, I was ok. The other night I used some benedryl due to fall allergies wreaking havoc on me and found that it did open up my nasal passages and I was able to get more sl...

I switched from an HC405 to an Activa a couple of weeks ago. I found it to seal a whole lot better than what I had. I seems to keep its seal even when I flop around in the bed. The 405 seemed to be more stiff and unforgiving, but the Activa is extremely comfortable. At least it is for me. Everyone i...

The first night using the mask was pretty good. I'll have to get used to using a different mask, but over all it was pretty good. I like the way it sealed no matter how I moved around ... and I move around quite alot. I'm very pleased with it. Mainly with how loose I can wear it. With the other mask...

Activa

Well, I took the advice of so many on the board and got an Activa mask today. When I tried it on at the DME office, it felt pretty comfortable. I was debating between the nasal pillows and the Activa, but decided to give the Activa a try. The mask I have now is a bit unforgiving, so we'll see if thi...

I grew up in Houston, Texas. Then spent 4 years in the Upper peninsula of Michigan in the Air Force, then back to Texas for 8 years. I've been in North Carolina for the past 9 years.

Well, I guess I'll put my 2 cents in. Originally, from Houston, I now live in a small town that is a tiny black dot on the North Carolina map. Just West of Winston-Salem. I work for a company that handles employee benefits in the QA/Software testing department. I spend my time trying to break the th...

Wow, good topic! I wish I had read this before going in to discuss the OSA with the sleep doctor. When I went to see him after being diagnosed, I didn't know enough about SA to ask the right questions.

I was satisfied with the CPAP until I read the posts on APAP......wish I had one now.

Yeah, that's exactly what the doctor told me when I went in for my follow-up after being on CPAP for a month. He said, "The honeymoon is over" when I asked him why I was still tired. After adjusting covers, straps, thermostats, humidifiers, etc... I'm finally back to sleeping well with the CPAP. It ...

I'm 39 male, 6'1" and the last time I could see the scale I was at 263. When I was in the Air Force 17 years ago, I was down to 175, and that is my goal now. So, I need to lose 85-90 pounds. It's kinda hard to do when the most exercise I get is walking from the truck to the office in the morning and...

My experience wasn't all that bad. At least it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I was expecting something from the 1984 movie - Dreamscape with Dennis Quaid and Kate Capshaw. I had visions of a big snake/lizard thing coming into my dreams and trying to kill me. I was surprised at how 'homey' ...

Ligament, In my case, I wasn't given a choice. If the CPAP didn't work for me, then they would have tried me on other machines like a BiPAP or APAP. If I couldn't handle the other machines then they would consider surgery. And since I'm new to all of this I've kinda followed where the DME and the In...
