Re: Mold in the Water in Machine

I've had that stuff show up before even when using distilled - just needs a tiny bit of elbow grease to get rid of... If it's a continuing problem, make sure your emptying and drying out your water chamber on a regular basis. If I remember correctly the pink slime a bacteria film that forms on surfa...

Re: CPAP Supplies

O and just as a follow up, for what it's worth... I did a search for using a CPAP to cool a CPU - and found a link to a guy who hacked a CPAP machine to use it to cool down the print head on a 3D printer. If you read the comments there's still a whole lot of misinformation out there about Apnea and ...

Re: CPAP Supplies

I've seen CPAP machines I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole for sale at Goodwill before. I might consider buying one to use as a interesting CPU cooling system to direct air directly through the CPU heat sync if I didn't think the thing would be loud as all heck... Most of the time I think it's bec...

Re: CPAP Supplies

I'd reach out to this group - and see if anyone needs anything. Not sure "Officially" where the best place to donate "Charitably" CPAP supplies would be and not have them simply resold for profit. IE: Goodwill. Maybe others can chime in and provide better ideas for places you could take your un-need...

Re: Lincare is Rude & Incompetent

Ya - the thing I find really annoying and odd... Are the setups who can't even get the sales part right. You have to move product to stay in business right? For those with good insurance - the insurance company will pay for the supplies - so all you have to do is send your customer the supplies and ...

Re: Lincare is Rude & Incompetent

My trick at this point for dealing with "ALL DMEs, With stupid people working at the local branch" is to find out who's doing the actual shipping. Get with who ever your DME is - and ask them about checking on the status or mention there is something you need to ask about your order... Sometimes the...

Re: Resmed Airfit F20 elbow code 63476

When I went from the airfit 10 to the 20. I noticed a increase in the noise level from the exhaust vents. Compared to the vents that were incorporated into the cushion of the 10 that is in the elbow of the 20... I can only describe it as a louder hissing sound in comparison to the 10 vs. The 20. It ...

Re: CPAP hose plugs/caps for cleaning purposes

Was black stuff... like you see on the shower grout sometimes. It would collect and grow in the lining of my mask and in the covered o2 inputs of my mask. The inside of the hose would develop a dingy film or I could see black stuff forming on the coils in between the translucent plastic on the hose....

Re: CPAP hose plugs/caps for cleaning purposes

I miss my bacteria filter... sigh. When I had my old cpap with out the heated hose I used a separate fisherpical heated humidifier, that thing that sets on the overpriced hotplate. I would leave the built in humidifier on my machine empty and add the AB filter and then run the line through the exter...

Re: CPAP hose plugs/caps for cleaning purposes

The 3 times with pneumonia was over a 10 year period and only during a bad allergy/sinus infection event. I've also had maybe 2 cases of bronchitis last one being last year. The "Doctors have my number now" as in I walk in and they look at my file and they usually help me get rid of my sinus infecti...

Re: CPAP hose plugs/caps for cleaning purposes

To address the original question as to where to get some plugs... we all come with a pair built in... I use my thumbs. There is no need to soak a hose for hours on end to clean it. Simply fill the hose with some warm soapy water cover the ends with your thumbs and swish the water around for a while....

Re: Getting My Sleep Machine Evaluated Tomorrow- Recommendations?

As others have said... They may "Want to see your machine" but other then physically testing your machine simply to verify if it's doing what it's supposed to... there isn't anything on the machine that they won't be able to get if they have the card. This time since you have no way of contacting th...

Re: Are you on a Bi-Level machine and if so why?

My reason for switching was simply to increase the upper limit of pressure the device could provide. With my Auto Set 10 I was regularly hitting 19'ish / 20 and staying there for hours at a time. It looks like I needed a bit more pressure but the APAP I had simply couldn't go any higher. With my new...

Re: Development of bumps inside nose

Could they be "ingrown nose hairs"? I don't understand why you weren't able to get more information if you went to an ENT with the issue actively presenting. If your able to scrape something off or take something out and see a resultant change "IE" relief of pain. They should have been able to look ...
