Help with leaks on new mask

Hi everyone, I've had my CPAP for over 13 years now. I just had my yearly visit, at which the sleep doctor upped my pressure to 8. She also suggested a new mask. My on site DME recommended a nasal pillow mask. I got a ResMed Swift FX mask. Currently, I am using the L pillows. Whether I use the M or ...

Re: Block out the light!

When I started working overnights (midnight to 8:30 AM; I was used to working daytime hours before this), I bought mine at Walgreens for $8.99 + tax (http://www.walgreens.com/store/c/walgreens-sleep-mask-with-velcro-brand-strap/ID=prod6165628-product). My mask is a ResMed Mirage FX nasal mask, which...

Re: Newbie would like to hear success stories, please.

A success story? You MUST mean me! I have had my CPAP machine since 3/3/2003. While I have not worn it every night, I have worn it most. I felt better after a month or so, and am feeling MUCH better now. And, I never took my mask off until the spring of 2009, when the pressure setting was too much f...

I told my sleep doc I was monitoring my own progress, and she did not seem fazed by it at all. I suppose that is on a case by case basis with each doctor, though.

Re: How effective is weight loss for treating sleep apnea

OSA, in the morbidly obese, can certainly lessen in severity as weight is lost. I had RNY weight loss surgery in March of 2009, and have lost over 150 pounds from my heaviest weight. In that time, my OSA was reduced in severity, such that I needed a new sleep study to get a new pressure for my machi...

Re: Can you buy your own cpap machine?

Writer, Thats the way it was with both of my machines. They bill for 10 months, then insurance considers it bought. The first one I got in 2003, and really had no clue about CPAP, at that time. The second one I got in 2010, to replace the original (deemed "obsolete" by the DME). I thoroughly researc...

Re: DO DMEs PUSH FULL FACE MASKS?

When I got my first mask, my DME (Apria) gave me the exact same mask I had during my titration (I think it was the Ultra Mirage II). No choice, or anything. But, I got my machine in early 2003, so that could explain it right there. I am on mask 3 now, which was recommended by Apria, as well. I curre...

Re: ResScan 3.10 -> 3.14

I was upgraded to an S9 last February when my old CPAP died, and didn't realize there was a way I could read the card until recently. So today I downloaded ResScan 3.14. The installation went fine; I didn't install any of the drivers because my computer has an SD reader. However, whenever I try to ...

Re: ResScan 3.10 -> 3.14

I don't have any issues using 3.14 straight from Windows 7 Ultimate x64. No need whatsoever to run it from XP Mode, although I DO have it, as well.

Re: Is this true? Masks not compatiable?

My first machine was the old REMstar Pro, with C-flex.....a Respironics machine. My mask was a Mirage Ultra II, which was ResMed. So, not only no, but HECK (self-censored myself there ) no! You can use one company's mask with another's machine.

Re: The Chat Room Is Being Spammed By Numbers

I am not normally one to complain, but, I felt the need to reply to the responses to my earlier post. And, if it were easy to use Ignore and be done with the spammers, I would. I do use it, and not only does it appear to block PM's from the ignoree, but it also blocks the room posts from said ignore...

Re: The Chat Room Is Being Spammed By Numbers

No, its not fixed. Currently, there are 3 5-digit names in the room. And Calist (or "Moderator") has openly admitted in the chat room that he is responsible for this. Can't we get this fixed soon??? It is driving the regulars out of the chat room.

Re: Big Weight Loss

For me, in about 19 months, I lost 100 pounds. But, I did it in a different way. On March 2, 2009, I had gastric bypass surgery. Now, that, of course, limits what I can eat, by amount, and by substance, too. Since then, I am down about 100 pounds. I was retitrated last year, and, as a result, my pre...

Re: do you really like the s9 climate line hose, or not?

When I got my new CPAP machine last week, they had BOTH hoses for me, in the case and ready to go! By both, I mean the ClimateLine hose, and the normal hose.
