Re: Off topic - Tankless Water Heater

Well said Hose Head. We went tankless when we got a 50 gallon soaking tub. Our original tank was a 75 gallon tank. Never drained. When we replaced it it really was heating maybe 50 gallons. The sediment had to be at least a third of what was in the tank. I had no idea it had to be drained every year...

Re: Off topic - Tankless Water Heater

Hi- My wife & I own a tankless water heater & love it. We have ours located on the outside wall inside our garage. Ours is a 8.4 gpm. That refers to the output that our unit is capable of. We live in Seattle. The water temperature is colder.Where you live in the country will dictate what capacity un...

Cflex vs Cflex+

Hi-

This has probably been covered but, what is the difference between Cflex & Cflex+? From what I've read Cflex+ provides a more
comfortable transition between the inhale & exhale. If so, given the choice on the Phillips' Cpaps why would anybody choose Cflex over Cflex+?

Thanks-Bob

Re: S-9

Thanks for the replies. I guess my question on that screen is does it already take into account the flow rate on the mask. Last night I used a Resmed Activa mask & selected the "nasal" setting. On a pressure of 12 cm the mask has a flow rate of 34 liters per minute. My leak rate was 31.2 liters per ...

Re: S-9

Thanks jmelby. I'm looking at it in the "information menu". I got that by holding down both buttons for 3 seconds. I don't have the Rescan software. The menu which starts with the icons goes through "sleep quality". I have it in CPAP mode. The thing that confuses me is that the "mask fit" icon was a...

S-9

Hi all- I'm now totally confused. I set my S-9 to 12 last night on CPAP. Using my Resmed Activa mask-I selected "nasal" mask setting on the Clinician's menu rather than the "pillow" selection when I use my Breeze mask. My question concerns the Leak rate. It said "31.2 L/m". That's 31.2 liters per mi...

Re: First Night on S9 compared with S8

Hi bigk- Like you I own an S-8 then switched to the S-9. I use the Breeze pillows make by Puritan Bennett. With the S-8, I could match up my mask with a more specific Resmed mask. With the S-9, the options are "nasal, full face, nasal ultra & pillows". So, I look at the leak rate for the Resmed pill...

Re: Recovery from Septoplasty

It will get better. You'll notice a big improvement in the next 2 weeks. You'll be swollen for the next 30 days=but in the next 2 weeks about 70% of it will go down. I was in worse shape than you. Hang in there because you have no choice but, in 2 months you'll be glad you did.

Re: Septoplasty/Turbine surgery and CPAP

fsmitty- If you didn't have splints you probably didn't a deviated septum. The splints are clips connected with wire that is commonly used to hold the septum in place. It's funny now because the doctor asked me twice (right before the surgery) what I was there for. Believe it or not!! It's done to h...

Re: Septoplasty/Turbine surgery and CPAP

I waited 3 weeks, blew my nose & STILL landed in the emergency room. In hindsight, I would've waited 4-5 weeks. I had the surgery on a Monday, packing removed on Tuesday(I went home from hospital) and splints removed on Friday. I went back to work next Monday-so one week after the surgery. I, for ab...

Re: Septoplasty/Turbine surgery and CPAP

fsmitty- Congrats. you made it over the hump. The packing is there to stop the bleeding. I has splints to help the septum heal in place. You can feel them but, it's unlikely you can see them unless you had a special tool. The clips are put on both sides of septum & are connected with a fish wire. As...

Re: Septoplasty/Turbine surgery and CPAP

Had surgery on a Monday. Packing removed next day-Tuesday. Then, the clips to keep deviated septum in place were removed on Friday. Went back to work on Monday. So, a week in total. It was said on another thread that once the packing is removed you're over the hump. So true. Never experienced pain b...

Re: Septoplasty/Turbine surgery and CPAP

Hi- I had my surgery in July. I was, also, told to bring my cpap machine with me. For insurance purposes, my understanding is that it's required to stay overnight in hospital because of the sleep apnea. After the procedure(turbinate reduction and deviated septum), I was hooked up with an oxygen mask...

Re: septoplasty and turbinate surgery

Hi- Going to work on Monday (after Thursday surgery) is really pushing it. Only because of the blood. My friend had surgery on a Thursday. Went back to work next Wednesday. No, I had mine done on a Monday(stayed overnight in a hospital because of apnea) took whole week off. Going into work on Monday...
