chronic cough since using S9 w/humidifier

Hi. I used to use a diff model and make of cpap w/heated humidifier set at a much lower minimum pressure than now. For some months of using the S9 I've had a chronic cough, possibly from post nasal drip that seems to have developed since using this cpap. It gives me very good therapy and is quiet an...

Re: Poll: How Often Do You Clean Your Tank?

I am an every so often person. We have well water but have a water softener, a whole house filter w/charcoal filters (I'm thinking its the same principal as the kind that you install on the faucet that are smaller) and an RO filter (reverse osmosis) that takes care of drinking water from the kitchen...

Re: how to see number of leaks on S9

Thanks Bob. Can you explain what some of this stuff means? Pressure 10.2 (my machine is set at 7.6-16 and my "sweet spot" is 9, so I'm guessing that means that at least once I had a need for a 10.2 pressure is that correct?) Leak 6.0L/mins Is that good or bad? What does the L/mins mean? Does it mean...

Re: THE GREAT PILLOW EXCHANGE

I'm in the same boat as the previous poster. I need a large unused FX pillow and will give you an unused small or extra small FX pillow in exchange. Terry

how to see number of leaks on S9

Is is possible to see the number of leaks on the S9 screen from the clinicians side rather than just the "smiley face" that appears w/good mask fit? If "yes" can you walk me through it? My respiratory tech doesn't know how...he is not competely familiar w/how this machine functions other than the ba...

Want to pillow trade in size w/me for FX?

Hi. I have small or extra small nasal pillows for the FX never used and would like a large sized unused FX pillow if you have it to trade. I'd much rather trade than have to buy new when the time comes. Thanks, Terry

Re: Bronchitis

Be sure its ok to continue using the cpap until your bronchitis clears up. I read my manual and it mentioned that therapy can aggravate certain conditions that have to do w/sinus, lungs, etc... and so there are times when it shouldn't be used. My doctor and my dme never told me...glad I read the man...

Re: Swift LT vs Swift FX

I like both the FX and LT. Having said that, from the first night I had the FX on I've not used the LT again except for a brief one night "comparison" as the FX is so much lighter its as though there's nothing on my face or head. What I like about the FX: It comes w/soft fabric that I use both on th...

Re: FX pillow tears or weakens at metal base?

Thanks for the ideas. This is such a great improvement over other masks I've used that I really want these pillows to last! Last couple of days I just took a soft cloth and cleaned it w/some ro water w/out taking the pillows off of the metal part. T

Re: do you really like the s9 climate line hose, or not?

My doc agreed to write a script for the climatline hose and the apap setting. Also my respiratory therapist at the dme is switching out my machine to a new S9 to see if the whistling stops on exhale....Resmed and cpap.com both told me that should not be happening. We'll see! For you who have autoset...

Re: do you really like the s9 climate line hose, or not?

Good to hear. Wondering what reason to give my doc when requesting he write a script for this and if ins would pay since I just got my machine w/the regular slimline hose in the package. I'm due to see him for a physical next wk and would like to ask him then, along w/a request for a script for the ...

FX pillow tears or weakens at metal base?

I find the fx pillow pops out of the metal base easily for cleaning but to get it back in has been another story...wondering if I just don't have the knack yet or am being too rough with it at the metal ring. Concerned it will mess up the pillows to do this on a daily basis as the manufacturer sugge...

do you really like the s9 climate line hose, or not?

Is this hose just "bells and whistles" or something that makes enough of a diff? My dme said that putting the slim line hose in a fleece wrap would be as good at preventing rainout. What's your exp? Terry
