Re: Mouth Taping
While I have tolerated using a full face mask I have never been happy about my mask leaks. I found out that my biggest problem is in my sleep I drop my chin to my chest and that ofton broke the mask seal. Using a cervical collar helps this a great deal. But going to a nasal mask and taping might be ...

Re: Mouth Taping
I was just watching a health and nutrition vidio and there was a mention of mouth taping having nothing to do with cpap use. It seems there are health benefits associated with only breathing through your nose. So after using a full face mask for over 14 years I am going to try using a nasal mask and...

Resperdonix versus Resmed
My theripy with my Dreamstation Auto wasn't going all that well with a 95% presure of 18 to 20 and an average AHI of 8.9 . When I heard of this recall I pulled an old ResMed S9 Elite out of the closest set it to a presure of 15 and got an AHI of 4.8 . Then as a check I hooked an old ResMed S8 Vantag...

Re: Switching from CPAP to APAP advice
Before the Resperdonix recall came up my Dreamstation Auto was maxing out with a 95% presure of 18 to 20 and an AHI of 8.9 . So my Dr. sent the order in for a ResMed Air curve Vauto set for 24 inhale and 20 exhale. My first 2 nights were horrible with an AHI of 9.45 and 11.15 . Then I talked the Dr....

Blood presure
I know high blood presure can ofton be helped with cpap but have a question about that. Even with using a cpap my AHI is still about 5 and I don't think cpap has helped my blood much if any. Is there just geting your AHI down to 5 enough to show a blood presure lowering effect or do you have to have...

Re: Compliance
A month ago I had an appointment with my Dr. where he called in an order for my new Resmed Aircurve Vauto. During this apointment I went ahead and set up an appointment for Dec. 15. I do have the modem enabled and my Dr's office can read my data so will they be able to just read my data using the mo...

Re: I broke my nose!
Have you thought about getting a total face mask. Shure they look bulky
but you wouldn't have any contact with the mouth or nose while you healed
up.

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread
The past few months while using my Dreamstation auto my 955 presure as well as my AHI have ben rising. My last 3 month averages were 95% presure of 18 ans AHI of 8.8. So my Dr. ordered me a Resmed Aircurve10 Vauto. But when I heard of the recall I hooked up an old S8 Autoser Vantage and it gave me a...

Re: First night on Resmed after 5.5 yrs on Dreamstation
Well almost like you except it's my first night on Resmed after 4.5 on Dreamstation. Funny in the last few months my Dreamstation auto had been reporting higher and higher AHI even as the 95% pressure was maxing out at 18 sometimes 20. But when I tried an old S8 Autoser vantage set for 12 to 16 it r...

Re: DreamStation self check errors
I had my Dreamstation that failed that test replaced. Then a year later the replacement also failed that self check so it was replaced too. Now they seemed to be working ok just failing the self check. So when the replacement for the replacement for the replacement that's right my 3rd dreamstation i...

Re: Resmed S8 Vantage Auto
Thanks. Back about 7 or 8 years ago I think I had that special interface and software but lost it. I can't remember if it gave any more data than the led screen. No big deal I will just set the old thing to what my Dreamstation was set to and hope my DR's order for a new Bipap is filled before Black...

Resmed S8 Vantage Auto
Because my Dreamstation is in that recall I decided to dust off my Resmed S8 Vantage Auto.
I found how to reset the pressure and even read my daily AHI but wondered if there was any
way to display my 90% pressure ?

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread
Both my Resmed S9 cpap and S8 apap have under 2,000 blower hrs
on them and have been stored away unloved in the closet. Now till
this recall gets resolved while I wait and see if Medicare will pay
for the new perscription my Dr. wrote I am glad I kept those old
machines after all.

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread
While waiting for this recall crap and not knowing if my Dr's order for a new Resmed will be approved by Medicare let along how long it will be till my DME has one I will go to plan B. Plan B is to use the crapy Resmed S9 cpap with only has 2,300 blower hrs or use the ancient S8 auto with only 800 b...

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread
My Dr. has already called in a perscription for a new Resmed bilevel machine. But being on Medicare are they likely to refuse to let me have a new machine because my Dreamstation isn't 5 years old yet ? I am sick Dreamstations. Mine had to be replaced under warranty twice and darn if the replacement...
