Re: Living without a humidifier

as i would use a flat rate box it would probably be about $30 .

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

Do we have any idea how long after registering it will be before they can repair or replace these units?

Re: Who Keeps A Backup CPAP Machine?

Lets see I am using a Dreamstation but do have a System one bipay, A resperdonics S9, a resperdonix S8 apap and if all else fails I have a Resperonics M with a flaky on off switch. I already registered my Dreamstation and System one for the recal but was disappointed I couldn't register the old M se...

Re: Who Keeps A Backup CPAP Machine?

I have a Dreamstation apap and a System 1 Bipap and as both of them fall under that recall
I will just pull out my Resmed S9. Well isn't having a backup great or in my case 2 backups.

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

Well so if Lane heard right my 3 year old Dreamstation will just be repaired but my older System 1 bipap will be replaced. Well I can live with that. It's funny I got a Dreamstation over 4 years ago and after about a year I ran the built in self test which it failed. They replaced it but after about...

Re: Board Newbie Desperate for Donation

When you say it died do you know what part failed ? Reason I am asking
is I have an old seriese M cpap with a good power suply and good motor
but the on off switch on the control board is bad. So if that's of any intrest
to you let me know I gues the shiping would be about $20.

Re: Have you had a COVID-19 Vaccine or have an appt?

There are a lot of studies out showing most of the coved cases ending up in ICU are low in vitamin D . Also just having adequate vitamin D seems to be linked to a 39% less likely hood of getting covid . So by making sure my vitamin D is adequate vitamin D and getting the vaccine I guess I may be pre...

Re: Have you had a COVID-19 Vaccine or have an appt?

Chunkyfrog, seems like you are 2 days ahead of me. I get my second jab of Moderna in 8 days. I never thought I would ever say this but I miss going to the gym and plan to start back in 2 weeks. My gym was never closed but being 70 years old and having diabetes, obesity and OSA requiring the cpap and...

Re: Backup battery for unexpected power outages Resmed Airsense 10

The simple 12v lead acid battery may not be sutiable either as I
think your Cpap needs 24v dc. But a lead acid batery and a cheap
dc power inverter would do the job.

Re: Cervical Collar

I have a real problem with high leak rates. I traced this down to my
chin hitting my chest when I sleep and breaking the seal on my full face
mask. In my case wearing one of these collars helps lower my leak rate
a great deal.

Re: Diet and AHI

If I am eating normaly my AHI is around 3.5 but nights I eat carbs right before bed my AHI will tend to be about 2. But start on a low carb diet and my AHI may go up usually to between 6 and 8 but ocasionaly a little higher than that. I actualy noticed this pattern about 7 years ago so it's not some...

Dreamstation service required notice

I live in a rural area and it's not uncommon for my power to flicker from time to time. But yesterday ny Dreamstation started beeping and displayed a service required notice and turning itself off and then back on over and over. So of cource I tried the old trick of unplugging it for a moment and th...

Re: Diet and AHI

Mostly the obstructive component goes up when I go low carb. On the other hand I haven't pigged out on carbs in perhaps 7 months and don't recall what component of my AHI went down when I pigged out I know most of us do best not eating close to bed time but as I said I am the opposite. Does't seem f...

Diet and AHI

In my case I know that when I lose weight my OSA gets better. But in the short term whenever I go low carb my AHI goes up. Then as counter productive it is in the long term having ice cream and cookies right before bed makes my AHI that night much better. Oh in the long term the ice cream and cookie...
