I use my cpap when I take naps also. When I fall asleep without it I don't rest as well and snore a lot. My throat feels irritated when i wake up. I must keep my mouth open quite a bit.

It's Gonna Be A Long Haul Support

Today will be my first day of my "Long Haul" report to our support group. 6/13/05 Beginning weight - 268 Goal for the week - l# loss Report back - 6/20/05 I will not set my goal too high, because I do not want to fall off. I will do 15 minutes of exercise today (more if I can). I will be more aware ...

Hi glassgal I've got the same kind of Mom you do and I know her inputs on my weight and what I eat are really said for the same reasons as your Mom. You are right, it does sometimes hurt and I do get a little tired of hearing that from her so often. I also spend too much time on the computer (one of...

Yes, I did go for that walk! It felt great.... well, alright anyway.... actually it was embarrassingly harder than I anticipated. I was quickly out of breath and got bad pains in my calves and weird prickly feelings in my thighs. Oh well.. BUT, I did it again today and I will do it again tomorrow, ...

I have the ResMed S7 Elite

hold down on the arrow down key and the top right key (marked with red) at the same time for about 3 seconds. The clinical menu will appear. Your information can be viewed there. Not sure if the S7 has all menu's or not.

I too am 100 lbs overweight. It was almost impossible for me to lose weight before cpap, I always started to exercise (mostly walking) but would stop after a few weeks. I was just too tired. I would come in from work and fall asleep in my chair while watching tv before I would even get dinner cooked...

Re: Retaining fluid & weight gain

[quote="sleepless in ny"] I know that the subject of swallowing air has come up plenty on these boards, but I have a different type of question about it. I know that I have been swallowing air as I have pains in my stomach in the morning. But,,,can it cause fluid retention in your fingers, ankles an...

When I meant turn if off, I meant by the on/off switch which is located on the back of my ResMed S7 Elite. I most definitely turn the pressure switch off everytime I remove my mask (there is an auto feature but I do not use). If I don't turn the switch off in the back a small amount of air still blo...

Actually I noticed my REMStar turns itself off if left on full by itself. But, I don't see the problem or confusion here. Why wouldn't you turn it off when you wake and take your mask off? Its not like it takes a great amount of effort or anything. On every machine I've used it's been a simple matt...

I made my own chin strap with velcro for adjustability. No, some nights I still manage to open my mouth, but not too bad.
