Central Sleep Apnea and Duragesic (fentanyl) patch
Eighteen months ago I started using the duragesic fentanyl patch for control of chronic pain. The patch is a very strong narcotic pain reliever. After using the patch for several months my wife began to notice that I was having spells of not breathing while I slept. As time went on the periods of no...

I read on the forum that sleep apnea is dangerous and I agree. Falling to sleep without control can have dangerous results. The effects of lack of sleep on many body functions is life threatening too, as is the decreased oxygen associated with apnea. I would like to read some factual information abo...

3rd sleep study, consult, now what?
Hi I am back from the consult from the 3rd sleep study in the last 4 months. Doctor was pleased to say that they had found a pressure to relieve the OSA to an acceptable level. It seemed he was going to leave it at that and send me on my way, without even addressing my major concern. All three of th...

Sleep study back, leads to questions
Hi I got the Dr. report on the second and third sleep study today. As I had anticipated CSA is severe. Have Dr consult in a couple of weeks. The study used a couple of terms I am not familiar with. Hope someone will educate me. The report refers to frequent PVC's and PAC's also sinus bradycardia. Wh...

UK electrical
Another thing a person would have to consider is the actual electricity over there. The typical voltage at the wall outlet over there is 220 volts and the frequency is 50 hz. Here it is 110 volts and 60 hz. The pap machine may be switchable for the differences, I don't know. I am fairly certain that...

Dream rememberance?
Thanks for the response Ron. Actually my concern is not in remembering the dream. I am more curious about the dream occurring almost immediately upon drifting off to sleep. I thought that dreams occur later in the sleep stages. Probably no significance, I was just curious.

Autopap questions & when do dreams come
Trying this one again. The last time I posted it got off on a tangent some how. I have been on a bipap for a couple of months now. In the sleep studies I have had, the techs could not find a pressure to control my apneas. Would an autopap machine be advisable, considering that it sets its own pressu...

xpap with nightly results
Hi all I have been on a bipap for a couple of months now. In the sleep studies I have had, the techs could not find a pressure to control my apneas. Would an autopap machine be advisable, considering that it sets its own pressure depending on the current needs of the user. Within user set limits. Ar...

3rd night update
Well last night went about the same as the first two, with the exception that there is to be no charge for # 3. Tried a couple of masks, bipap, cpap even added oxygen. Still could not get a good pressure that would stop the apneas. Still left with severe CSA even on the machine. The tech said she wa...

Three Sleep Studies in 3 months??????
Hi My first sleep study was 3-31. The tech had trouble getting a good pressure but decided that it should be set on 17/3 with a bipap machine. I went to the DME and was set up with the bipap and an Ultra mirage full face. In that study I was left with 62 CSA per hour and 2 hypos, while on the bipap....

Sleep numbers read on screen
I was reading on the forum about a machine but can not find it now. The machine in question gave the sleep numbers on the screen of the machine at the click of a button or sequence of clicks. This rather than having to usea card reader. Seems that all I would need is sleep results the morning after....

ballast, the numbers posted are from the original sleep study. I am considering getting a reader and associated software when finances allow. I think it would be an advantage to be able to review each nights numbers. What numbers will the bipap pro 2 provide? Thanks to all for the replies. Any infor...
