Re: Teleseminar: Ask Dr. Park

Dr Park is an ENT and a dentist who specializes in sleep issues. His website has lots of info - you can sign up for his newsletter (which is where you can find out about his teleseminars) and he has an active question and answer board. US House submits resolution about sleep apnea

Here is a resolution that has come up in the House of Reps in Congress. It has been referred to committee, which usually means that is the last of it... But at least one can say that the concept of sleep apnea was spoken on the floor, and maybe will help raise a bit of awareness. http://tinyurl.com/...

ENT Dr interviews Sleep Med. certified DDS RE oral appliance

This interview is not short - but has interesting info from a dentist who is certified in Sleep Medicine (a pretty rare combination, it seems) Interview with Dr. Lawler, DDS is conducted by ENT Dr. Steven Park, author of Sleep Interrupted.

Re: Took a picture of myself this morning.

Though I wonder if there's something for the strap cutting into the top of my ears....

Which came first...being fat or having sleep apnea?

There has been a common assumption (in the medical community as well as the wider community) that sleep apnea happens because you are fat. After reading posts here for about two years, it seems clear that many have sleep apnea who are not fat, or did not start gaining weight until the time when they...

Re: How Much Did Your Sleep Study Cost?

My sleep study was billed out at $4,100. The doctor's review an additional $300+ (can't remember the exact number). She wrote the summary report too. This sleep center is starting to do "at home" overnight studies. It would be interesting to know what they are charging for those.

Changing Aura/Headrest pillow??

I need to change out the pillow part for my decapitated Aura from large to medium. Is there a trick? It seems like a permanent connection to the plastic tubing. Advice?
Thanks - Betty

Re: Breathing question

The same thing was happening to me as I was drifting off to sleep - I was not breathing in and it would wake me back up. I an a very light sleeper in the first stages of going to sleep and had a long time of not being able to go to sleep for a long time each night - with all the mask noises, cricks ...

Re: Oh Spit!!

My best luck has been with 3 M's waterproof tape. It is in most all the stores - Rite Aide, Walgreens, Target Pharmacy, etc. It is flesh colored and feels like rubber. It has a bit of stretch to it and for me - the amount of stick is enough that I don't usually drool. I do tuck my lips, and usually ...
